Canned food expiration dates

Cleaning out the hurricane kit, and about 50% of my canned goods have passed the expiration date. These cans have been in a closet for a year, away from heat, have no dents or rust. Do you think the contents are still safe to eat? I am talking about Chef-Boyardee, canned milk, etc.

I will get rid of them because facing the aftermath of a hurricane with food poisoning sounds grim. But it is a shame to throw all those cans away....
