A Great Family Friendly Restaurant in Hot Springs, Arkansas?
We are vacationing in Arkansas and will spend a day in Hot Springs. I'd like to have a great meal in an atmosphere that won't make my seven year old son uncomfortable - he really doesn't like FANCY places, but he's very well behaved and used to eating out with the grown ups. Any suggestions?

If I could only eat one meal in HS, it'd be McClard's Barbecue. Even the fries are great.

If I only had one meal to eat in HS, it'd be at McClard's Barbecue. Especially if your young gent is big on french fries. It's not an elegant place, but it's deelish.

The deck at Fisherman's Wharf is always a great hit with families. Live music plus views of Lake Hamilton and incoming boats are always a big hit. My favorite thing, though, is to watch children standing at the edge of the deck feed cracker crumbs to the hungry turtles waiting below!

Yes, definitely eat at McClard's! But if you have a chance to have two meals, walk down Bath House Row and eat at Rolandos. It's great, family-friendly Mexican food.

I know this is too late, but we recently travelled through Hot Springs as well. McClard's was certainly the talk of the town but we found it crowded and inconvenient (cash only??). Also we're from texas and the only BBQ choices were beef or pork with no other description, so we passed. However we did find Central Park Fusion Cuisine, which was exciting and delicious and inexpensive. I highly recommend it to any foodie travelling through the area.
