Washington, D.C. Holiday Party Venue
I may have posted this before....so, sorry if I have.
I'm an events planner in DC, and I'm searching for a place to have our company holiday party in December. We have about 60 people altogether....last year we went to The Oval Room, which was lovely, but super crowded.
I've been looking at places like Corduroy, Sam & Harry's, or The Willard Room...but I'm new at this, so I'm not entirely sure where the good places are...that will also not make us feel like we are squashed in.
Any advice? We're on 14th and K in NW...a nice area.

Try a marriott hotel, they do a great job! Intimate and private.

Can Central set aside part of the restaurant for you? The food is divine and suitable even for non-foodies (especially the fried chicken), the wine list offers a number of good options, and they have valet parking. Alternatively, does Zaytinya (sp?) have a party are? The tapas are yummy and the party drinks give a nice vibe.

Try something fun and different like the Arlington Arts Center near the hip Clarendon area. Check them out at the following link: http://www.arlingtonartscenter.org/entertaining_galleries.htm. Art and parties are awesome mates!

The issue may be what you are looking for. If you are looking at places with a large enough dinning room to take care of you, then places like Wolfgang Puck's Source at the Newseum will do it. But if you are looking for good rooms, there are lots of museum spaces that work, and find good caterer to work with you. The city is filled with places, perhaps if you have a theme or something it might help.

Hey, if you haven't already decided on a location for your company Christmas party, I urge you to consider Strathmore Music Center. It's in Rockville, just above Bethesda and has it's own Metro Station. Parking is ample. The facility is unbelievable, rooms encased in glass with great views, and the food is fab, nyc quality. Depending on your desires, a dj works as well as a jazz trio. the staff it top notch. I recently had a party there and was blown away by the service. good luck!
