At a recent garage sale I found a square cast iron pan with a wooden handle, and it intrigued me, so of course I bought it, but I don't know what this thing is for. The pan has 4 cups, I guess you'd call them, like you'd find in a drop biscuit pan, but I don't think that's the purpose of this thing, since you'd only be able to cook 4 at a time, and you wouldn't want to put this in the oven since it has a wooden handle.
Also, 2 of the cups have designs on the bottom, which makes me think that whatever you'd cook in there would be turned upside-down for serving, so you'd see the design. The other 3 cups are plain.
The pan itself seems to be fully enamel coated, not raw cast that would have to be seasoned.
Anybody got any ideas?
