NYC Dining Out with only a week's notice

Where should I go in NYC for dinner next weekend? I found out I would be there only this week so I couldn't get reservations at any of the big boys.

Momofuku Ssam, they don't take reservations.

Come to Brooklyn! Al Di La in Park Slope doesn't take reservations, but they have a lovely wine bar if there's a wait. Some of the best Italian food in all of NYC.

The wait at Al Di La is horrible! I agree the food is wonderful but the 90 minute waits on a weekends are NOT!

Try Falai on the LES - you might be able to get a res. still, and their food is wonderful (it's modern Italian).

Spotted Pig, go early and wait the hour if you required...

Oh, yeah. Spotted Pig. Definitely. If it's a decent night, and you can stand the wait, you'll be rewarded.

It's not always that long - I've gotten a table within 40 minutes on weekends! Sometimes it's bad, but you can always snack and drink wine at the bar...

Marlow & Sons in Brooklyn for sure.

I third Spotted Pig, and sitting at the bar at Babbo. Go early (like 5 p.m. early) and snag a seat at the bar, where they serve the full menu.

Bouley Upstairs doens't take reservations either, you may have to wait in the bakery but it's awfully good.
