The Neelys AND Sunny Anderson will be hitting the road for MORE of these boring road shows!!! And frankly, I can only take Gina in small doses.

I get really tired of all the road shows and whatnot on food network. that sort of thing is fine on the travel channel, but theoretically Food Network is there to talk about cooking and baking, not to show off restaurants that 49/50ths of the viewing audience will never be able to have anything to do with.
also, as far as Road Tasted with the Neely's goes, isn't that the show formerly run by Laura Deen's two dipshit kids? frankly, i'm kinda glad they fired them.

It seems like every food network star is allowed two shows, one cooking and one road. I just never understood the appeal of the road shows. I'm not visiting X city any time soon and even if I were I'm not likely to get out my notebook and take notes. Do food network viewers travel more than I do? I just don't understand what the Neely's Road show would have say on Rachel Ray's road show or Guy Fieri's or anybody else's. When they cook they all have different styles, but unless it was their hometown how are they really gonna know which places to recommend? And who is going to be the better recommender? How can one tell? What is each cook going to say differently about each city that they don't really know? It seems like every place they go is good. They never have bad food. It's just not believable.

...theoretically Food Network is there to talk about cooking and baking...
Their argument is that it's the Food network, not the Cooking network. Frankly, I'm with you. It was "received" as a channel where foodies could go to hone cooking skills and now TVFN is trying to be all things to all people because the hard core cooks weren't enough for them. It's like when your neighborhood hardware store releases television ads saying, "Fred's Plumbing... Your Christmas gift headquarters!" No, it's Fred's Plumbing.
...not to show off restaurants that 49/50ths of the viewing audience will never be able to have anything to do with.
My only exception here is if they are highlighting recipes and how to techniques from these restaurants. Full recipes. Not a glimpse of someone preparing the "signature" this or that.
...also, as far as Road Tasted with the Neely's goes, isn't that the show formerly run by Laura Deen's two dipshit kids? frankly, i'm kinda glad they fired them.
It's been regurgitated several times. Once as Follow That Food and I know there are others. As for the Deens - one overpaid grease monger from the Deen family is enough. TVFN is going to have the whole family on the payroll.

I think you mean PaulaDeen....IIRC, Jamie and Bobby didn't want to host the show any longer, preferring to devote their time to the restaurant.....

Didn't anyone notice that food to table show seems strangely familiar. It should; because the use to call it Follow that Food with Gordan Elliot.

I stay away from the road tested shows. I watched two of Pauls Deen's Party and I felt embarrassed for her.

I guess I'm the only one, but I do enjoy Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. We travel A LOT, and it's cool to stumble across one of the places that we've seen on TV.
We found Neely's Interstate BBQ in Memphis in March, and the food really was great. Not so fond of "The Neely's" - too much saccharine for my tastes - but, the restaurant jumped out at us, recognizing it from DDD. Feasting on Asphalt - the River Run also gave us a few places to try on our roadie to New Orleans in January.

I think showcasing all those Mom n Pop food finds across America is Fastinating It's where all our greatest cuisines come from I think !

i have to be honest i like Diners Drive ins and Dives. I dont know if this qualifys but i really enjoyed the Feasting on Asphault stuff too, of course it had Alton Brown so of course i liked it, and he seemed less scripted and more natural, so it was even better! As for the rest of the road shows FN airs, well the less said the better. I just hope they dont decide to let aunt shmandy host one! I can see it now, she travels America and showcases Denny's, I hops and McD's. (shudder)
