Grilled/fire-roasted nuts
I picked up a package of fire-roasted cashews at my local grocery. Pretty tasty. Has anyone ever grilled/fire-roasted nuts? Seems like it would be an easy thing to do. Or is it more complicated than I am thinking?

Hard to believe no responses to this. I figured by now we'd have multiple recipes, and directions for building at least 1 roast-your-own-nuts contraption.
Roasted nuts of various types is common, but the term "Fire" roasted is not immediately familiar to me. Looks like these folks have a Fire Roasting process they claim is exclusive. http://www.wolfiesnuts.com/

Just look up any set of instructions for building a BBQ grill based drum coffee roaster. There's a brand of antique roaster that some commercial coffee roasters still use - called the "Royal". they were manufactured in Hornell NY and many of them were actually used for roasting nuts rather than coffee.
For coffee roasting I prefer a more modern and higher tech roaster that offer more precise control over temperature and airflow but the Royals are very pretty machines. I'm skeptical that "flame roasting" really produces results different than other heat sources. If you have raw nuts you can roast them on a West Bend Stir-Crazy popcorn popper, in the oven on a cookie sheet or even in a cast iron skillet on the stovetop.

No I haven't done this but I really like the idea! Or...how about braising your pistachios like Stephanie did in the finale of Top Chef? :)
