Ft Lauderdale

Restaurant recommendations in or near Ft Lauderdale?

Nothing trendy, nothing more exotic than Italian.

Ideally, w/water view

@djk - There are several really great threads on Chowhound relating to Fort Lauderdale.

With that said we have been there on vacation a number of times and have had fantastic meals.

Blue Moon Fish Company
Johnny V's
3030 Ocean
Cafe Martorano
Bahia Cabana (think fun "Dive" good food)

Have a great visit!

Tom Jenkin's BBQ. A destination in itself!

Try Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza or Trina (for a beautiful beach view).

I'll second Tom Jenkin's!!! It seems you are looking for something different (water view to enjoy Florida?) but still, stop by if just for a snack; really.

Casa d'Angelo, on Federal Hwy., may be one of the best Italian restaurants in the southeast. A must! Also, Cero, in the new St. Regis Hotel is lovely and pricey and delicious, of that's what you're looking for.

I had one of the best meals of my life at Blue Moon Fish Company and I recommend it to everyone who will listen. The menu is always changing but if they are still serving the baked grouper with crab/corn cake...it is a must.

There is Morton's Steak House in North Miami near Aventura, its a beautiful restaurant with an excellent menu. It is right next to a PF Chang's.

It would probably easier to go to the Morton's in Palm Beach.

Las Olas blvd:

Timpano's Italian Chophouse (great food, ambiance & martinis)

Noodles Panini (definitely get the bruschetta),

Cafe Europa (this is my brother's go to spot for first dates!)

The Grape (for drinks and hors d'oeuvres/dessert)

The Floridian (or the locals call it The Flo, I love their breakfast! Well I love their everything but it's a great little diner!)

Chima (for steak)
