Food Network jumped the shark when...

For me, FN jumped the shark when they started showing Emeril five/six times a day. I used to like Emeril, but seeing him constantly made me loose interest in him and the channel in general. I still like Good Eats and Barefoot Contessa, the rest I no longer watch (HATE the food challenges). I miss: Molto Mario, How to Boil Water with the French guy, original Iron Chef, Two Fat Ladies, Grilli'n an Chill'n (Flay and Jack McDavid). I even miss Mario Eats Italy!

Have you checked Fine Living? They have a lot of the old cooking shows with real cooking and real chefs.

Sara's Secrets was always boring to watch. I like Barefood Contessa-- although when I was still in the States all I would ever see were re-runs. I love Dave Lieberman-- his food looks yummy and so does he!

And "Food Network Jumped the Shark" threads jumped the shark when...

Food Network jumped the shark when... Semi Homemade aired for the first time and the Instacrap Movement was born. (Or at least regularly televised.)

@beth1...you are so right. The Fine Living Network has cooking shows that are informative, entertaining and a joy to watch. The Food Network used to be that way, but sadly the good shows are being replaced with a lot of trash.

Food network has just gotten stupid these days...it's obnoxiously trendy, with very little real content. (i don't count restaurant review shows as anything worth watching). Good Eats is the only real quality show on there...Iron Chef in kinda interesting to watch, but it's not really got much else going for it...Ace of Cakes is funny, but again, has no real practical application to food; it could just as easily be "Ace of Transmission repairs" and the jokes and setup of the show would still work.

When they hired Bob Tuschman and what's-her-face. That had to be the moment.
