Celebratory Dinner in Toronto
I'd like to take my best friend and her fiance out to dinner to celebrate their engagement. We'll be in Toronto (where her fiance is from), and I'm staying in Yorkville. I'd like to stay fairly near to Yorkville, but am willing to take a cab ride of reasonable length. Any great suggestions?

Maybe Mistura at Avenue and Davenport?

Close by, fresh Italian food, and they have things that are nice and light so that you don't want to die in hot weather. When you make the reservation, if this is soon, specify that you DON'T want Summerlicious (that's a reduced-price promotion for most of July with a limited menu) and they will be thrilled. That's true of a lot of restaurants here right now. :-)

Thanks, Wellred! I went to the website and it looks great. Made a reservation -- will let you know how it goes.

Wellred - if you happen to stumble back on this (don't want to bother the whole group by starting a new post) I want to thank you for the great rec. I had a really delicious dinner, and my friend and her fiance LOVED it!
Much appreciated. (PS - I had the spring pea soup and the prosciutto wrapped hen - both fantastic)
