Best Breakfast in Nashville
Does anyone know who serves the best breakfast in Nashville, TN? If you know of any good bakeries, coffee shops, or any combination of the three that would also be helpful.
Thanks!

The Loveless Cafe is a standard -- their ham is a bit on the salty side, but their biscuits and homemade jelly are to die for. If you're lucky, they'll be making blackberry -- YUM!
Also, there was a place called the Red Wagon Cafe in East Nashville that my friend and I used to go to all the time, but I haven't been in a couple of years. Hopefully, it's still there -- great brunch dishes.

As a native Tennessean who lived in Nashville for 5 years while in grad school at Vanderbilt, it is simply not a breakfast unless you go to the Loveless Motel. It is on the outskirts of west Nashville. Bobby Flay did a throwdown with the woman there that makes the biscuits. No lie, these are some of the best biscuits ever! I do miss the Loveless Motel since I left Nashville.
The Pancake Pantry in Hillsborough Village is good too. Classic breakfast. Get there early because there is almost always a line.

I live in Nashville and if you are looking for a real Nashville tradition...check out Pancake Pantry on 21st (near Vanderbilt University). Get there early cause there is always a line and almost always a famous face or two on the weekends!!

I live in Nashville, too, and happen to LOVE breakfast places and bakeries. Loveless Cafe is good for home-cooking, although it's a little bit of a drive depending on where you live. I'd also definitely recommend Provence in Nashboro Village (directly across from Pancake Pantry) for excellent European-style baked goods, and Noshville for authentic Jewish deli/diner selections. Also, Merridee's Breadbasket in downtown Franklin has great food and is very charming. As for pancakes, there's a (relatively) new place called The Pfunky Griddle where you make your own pancakes directly at your table. They have all kind of toppings and mix-in's, and it's really cool.
(And I'm REALLY sorry to have to tell you this, but I think you should know... Just over a year ago, I ate at Pancake Pantry, and....there was a cockroach in my friend's omelet. I'm sorry, I know that's disgusting, and believe me, I hate telling you this because I really loved their french toast, but it did happen. Their health/sanitation score has not been very good in the past several years, so you might want to check on that before you go there. Sorry!)

The Loveless Cafe is good, but a bit overrated IMO. I've heard good things about the Pfunky Griddle, but never ate there.
There's also Noshville, which bills itself as an authentic New York style deli. The food is good but a bit overpriced. They have a few locations, I believe the Green Hills one has the best celebrity sighting potential (eggs with a side of Carrie Underwood anyone?).
My personal fave is Waffle House. No lie. Basic breakfast food, it's good, there's plenty of it, and it's cheap. And they make the best darned hashbrowns.

Best breakfast in Nashville? Oh, that's easy. My MIL, in her kitchen, about 40 minutes out of town... MMMmmmmm...

Charlie Bob's
Fast service, and solid breakfast food, at a reasonable price.
