Your Favorite Restaurant in Manhattan

I'm looking for a good place to eat tonight. I love out of the ordinary food, but I like any food that tastes good. What would you say is the most rewarding restaurant in Manhattan to eat at? Nothing too expensive, please. If I really like the place, I'll write a review of it on http://gastronomicgamer.blogspot.com/ . Thank you!

I love Pearl Oyster Bar. Pricey, but not out of control. Everything on the menu is delicious, but my perfect menu is bucket of steamers, lobster roll, and blueberry pie.
Caracas Arepa Bar is good for something inexpensive and different.
If you want good Korean that's not in Korea Town, go to Do Hwa on Carmine St. Great food.

Unfortunately, the comment was too late for me to go out tonight. Whatever restaurant I choose to go to will have to wait for a few days. Until then, keep posting restaurants.

One If By Land Two If By Sea The food is incredible and as a bonus it's very romantic.

Well, romanticism isn't really coming into play because I ate with my dad...

Anyway, I went to Do Hwa. It was good, but it wasn't so amazing to write a review... All Korean food that I've tried so far has been great, but this was the most disappointing I've had. Not that it wasn't delicious. It's just that my standards for Korean food are high. Also, we were the only people there! I don't know why, though. It's a perfectly good restaurant.

I'd still like to hear about more good restaurants for the next time I dine out.

caracas is amazing! some really great restaurants in that neighborhood...moma's on i think 8th and b has amazing soul food and it's cheap ($9 for dinner and you will definitely have leftovers), odessa's on ave a and i think twelfth street (ha you can see how much attention i pay when i'm walking around) - heaps of polish food, again for not much money (can you tell i'm on a budget?). also really like s'mac for macaroni and cheese on twelfth and first i think? vinny vicenz on fourteenth and first has really good pizza, quantum leap on twelfth and a has really good vegan/vegetarian/pescatarian food (love their soy chicken sandwiches and soy milkshakes), and city birdbath a block up has great baked goods (all organic) for dessert...i better stop now before this post becomes a novel, but man i love to eat.

Polish food? I've never tried that. Maybe that'll be my next destination...

mmmmmmmmmm pierogies.

Una Pizza Napoletana.

Favorite in all of Manhattan is a hard question! In the not-crazy-expensive category I love Casa Mono, Lupa, Boqueria, Alta, the Momofukus...Max Soha and Pisticci are cozy and well-priced Italian places in Morningside Heights with surprisingly quality food.

Odessa periogi aren't all that great but it's very cheap and open 24/7. I prefer Veselka or Ukrainian National Home. RIP Teresa's in the EV. They used to have the best (chicken stock in the potato filling!) but closed.

I'm not really looking for a cheap meal. I want to find a really good restaurant that just happens to not put a dent in my wallet.

Take it from a Ukranian Jew and a resident of Greenpoint, Polish food is very utilitarian. It's tasty, but not in a dazzling way at all, more in a hearty stick-to-yer-ribs way. Lots of borscht, pork, pickled herring, pierogi, and every type of pork sausage imaginable. If you want to eat it, come to Greenpoint, don't waste your time with mediocrity at Veselka (although their cabbage soup is good and blintzes and soups at B&H are very good).

My fave Manhattan joint is Arturos because it's not pretentious at all, it's a good place for a party, the pizza is usually very good, and there is live music. It's on Houston Street and I like it cause it's old NYC.

I love those blintzes at B&H. Mmm... blueberry... Maybe I'll try Arturos sometime.

Union Square Cafe, hands down.

The polenta with gorgonzola and walnuts is AMAZING.
