What is a "Flint-style coney"?
@LunaPier,
Looking at the thread '50 blogs from 50 States' http://www.seriouseats.com/talk/2008/05/50-blogs-from-50-states.html a moment ago I then headed off to look at LunaPier's great blog http://www.blogsmonroe.com/food/. Reading through I came across "Flint-style coney". I'd like to add this to my food dictionary. Can someone let me know what a coney is? In the UK (as, I guess, in the US, viz Coney Island) a coney is a rabbit......

@Foodlexi, a few months ago I posted the whole story of the Flint-style coney here, complete with a couple versions of the recipe for the sauce. Coincidentally, on June 2nd my step-son and I will be opening the beachhouse concession here in Luna Pier, Michigan at Lake Erie, and the Flint-style coney will be on our menu. The Flint-style coneys are also showing up in restaurants as far from Flint as Parkersburg, West Virginia.

Sorry ... a "coney island hot dog" is a chili-topped hot dog created in Michigan and named for the amusement park in New York. Slightly more info is here.

Excellent site. And I have been enjoying LunaPier's comments since I got here to SE. LunaPier, are you also Dave from the Michigan Appetite?
This reminds me, somebody sent me some info on "Flint" style coney dogs recently, but I cannot remember who or what... I will check my inbox.

@FastFoodCritic, yup that's me over there, at the statewide level. MLive.com is part of the group that runs epicurious and other sites. I'd better put up the link to my food blog there as well before Adam makes me look wimpy again. ;-)

Here we go... It's a story about a family bringing Flint-Style Coneys to Arizona!

I talked with the owners briefly myself, and I had intended to follow up with them, but 100 other things came up and I forgot... until now.

I hear you. One day he linked to me and sent a thousand visitors... I've still not recovered from it. Sometimes, even now... I see the statistics jump in my sleep.
He's a bastard.

@LunaPier,
Thanks for this. I checked the link and really hope all goes well for you. I'll put something on whatamieating.com tonight, but it won't be uploaded for a couple of weeks. I usually upload it when I have a new thousand entries to make it worth while.
@FastFoodCritic,
This as really helpful too. I wish Adam (who is Adam?) would send a thousand visitors to my site! It would cheer me up no end!!
