What do I serve with Quiche?
I have a quiche recipe that I make quite often. Every time I make it, I never know what to serve with it. The only side dish that seems to go well with it is a green salad. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You can do different types of salad, like a cole slaw, beet salad, chilled asparagus and green bean salad with red onion and white wine viniagrette, sliced tomatoes with parsley and dressing, or maybe even a soup...

Is the quiche for breakfast or lunch/dinner. I second salads. I like a nice acidic green salad as a side.
For breakfast, I'd stick with fruit salad and maybe some nice potato dish, perhaps with peppers and onions.

Yeah, most of the time I like quiche with a salad or some fresh fruit.
Asparagus is nice.
Grilled radicchio is something I like to do as a side with many things.
Slice the radicchio into thin wedges, keeping the wedges intact by not trimming the root end too close. Brush the cut sides with olive oil, s&p.
Then I mix up a little vinaigrette with olive oil, balsamic or sherry vinegar, a touch of dijon, the juice of whatever citrus I have on hand (blood orange is nice) and use the fruit if it's an orange and not lemon or lime, shallot, s&p.
I've made salads with it, using orange and fennel. Sometimes, I grill onions with the radicchio and serve it with a little crumbled goat cheese and matchstick apple to cut the bitterness.

A bowl of soup goes well too - and you can tailor the type of soup to what's in the quiche - ham, brocolli and red pepper quiche would perhaps go well with a cream of brocolli soup?

At my house quiche is usually accompanied by baked potatos and a good salad, that gives you lots of room to play around with the flavor combos.

Melon.
Fruits like melon balls or chunks cut up with a lime-honey 'dressing' of sorts...or a yogurt drizzle or sauce, creme fraiche
Slice of honeydew, cantelope, watermelon...etc.
Gazpacho's...

What kind of quiche? I'd like a spinach salad with warm bacon dressing, but depending on what your quiche inredients are, it could be redundant.
How about a melon salad with chopped fresh mint?

Sure does depend on the quiche you are serving. My favorite quiche has lots and lots of spinach and ricotta, served with a chopped tomatoes ceviche (sp?) on the side. YUM!

Try to pair it with opposite flavors and textures. Quiche is soft and fairly mild; I always like to have something tangy and crisp and juicy to go along with it.
Think chopped fresh tomatoes, cukes, Greek olives, scallions or red onion in a sharp Italian dressing. Or scoop out a halved cuke and line it with salsa and chopped avocado. Any type of chilled cut-up melon would be wonderful. The added mint idea sounds terrific.
How about a strawberry spinach salad? (Baby spinach leaves, sliced hulled strawberries, some toasted walnut or almond pieces, and a very light citrus vinaigrette - check out Cooks.com for recipe versions)

One vote for gazpacho. With home-made croutons. This could work with a hot or cold lunch quiche.

First, I want to thank everyone for posting such great ideas. What a terrific response! The quiche I make is a healthy crust less ham and zucchini one. I serve it for dinner. I like the idea of serving it with something tangy and crisp. "The fresh tomatoes, cukes, and Greek olives, scallions or red onions in a sharp Italian dressing" sounds perfect. I also like the soup idea. I hadn't thought of that. If I was to make it for brunch on a weekend, I'd probably serve it with melon chunks. But, I usually have it for dinner.

Looks like you have some good ideas as far as salads go-so I don't think you need anything more there.
Maybe an assortment of breads with butter or bread sticks. Perhaps Garlic Bread..
Trays usually go over well: veggie, cheese, fruit, or a variety of meats and cheeses with balsamic dressing drizzled atop. Mmmm, I want some of that now.

Thanks so much for the garlic bread suggestion. I adore garlic bread, and it would go so well with the quiche. The tray idea is also a good one.
