SEers help! Foodie Fam Reunion Invite Help!

So we are having a huge family reunion with several generations of foodies leading the healm. We have a good, solid italian theme menu planned because well, that's what we are and the older generations will accept nothing but italian themes. Here is where I am running in to trouble...I need some invitation phrasing help.

Because there are so many of us I do not have the time nor the resources to sit down and track down all the siblings, grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, nieces, nephs...you get the idea. Is there a way to word the invite to ask whomever is getting the invite to feel free to invite all of their kids, grands, great grands, etc? Confusing, I know.

Thanks in advance!

Please help us make this the best reunion ever! If you know of any family members at all whom this invitation may not have reached, could you pick up the phone and invite them too?

Thanks - we look forward to seeing you all!

I'm not sure of the tone you're exactly looking for, Chelley - so this might not fit right . . . it's slightly casual but a bit formal too . . . :)

Karen, you are right up there on my list of fave SE'ers. Atta girl!!!

All generations and distant relations are welcome. If you know how to reach any of them, will you please extend this invitation and ask them to RSVP? We know our list is far from complete and we want our entire extended family to gather and celebrate. Your help and cooperation can make that possible! Call any and all and encourage them to share the food and the love of the _______ family!

Chelley--have you thought about a website to add to the invite? I think they are pretty easy to set up, my friends set one up for a destination wedding in St. Bart's and included all kinds of useful info, like accommodations, places of interest, recreation, airport, events leading up to the wedding, etc. This way anyone who needs to can access any necessary info and after you can post photos.

@wookie...Most of the fam is in the old school, non-tech happy ages. Like upwards of 75-93. Its a good idea, just not useful for a bunch of old italians drinking bottle after bottle of diego red and wearing sweaters in the 90 degree heat! LOL!

That's the sort of crowd who WILL pick up the phone and shepherd each other, making sure every last 4th cousin twice removed is gathered up and brought into the fold. I have the same in my own family, 'cept they're Polish. Maybe offer a prize for the one who gets the most people to attend?

Dear 'family member';

We are planning a huge family reunion and You and Yours are INVITED!

I need your help!

Because there are so many of us I do not have the time nor the resources to track all the siblings, grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, nieces, nephewes, cousins. So that I don't miss anyone, please pass this invitation backward, foreward and sideways around your family and help me to invite all of "Yours".

RSVP: my reunion email@home.xxx
