Red Hook, Brooklyn Eats
Okay, I'm aware that everyone on here knows their s**t so I'm hoping you guys can help me out. I'm finally making the pilgrimage to Lenell's in Red Hook to pick up some bitters and small batch bourbon. I need a place to have a nice casual lunch sitdown lunch and am open to all food types. Price really isn't an issue but no place mega expensive. I wanted to go to the ball fields but have heard that they're not quite open yet. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Max

I've only been to the Good Fork in Red Hook for dinner, and it was good, but check out whether they serve lunch. For a cheap casual lunch, you can go to Fairway and get nice sandwiches and eat them outside with a view of the Statue of Liberty if it's a nice day. When you're at LeNell's make sure you get Hudson Baby Bourbon - it is made at a small place in upstate New York with 100% NY State corn and it's one of my favorite bourbons!

Defontes for a very good but not transcendent hero sandwich and Steve's Authentic Key Lime Pies for a frozen chocolate-covered frozen key lime pie on a stick (they only sell it at the Steve's bakery in Red Hook).

The Good Fork for sure.
Hope & Anchor is great for low-key comfort food in a unique setting.
Steve's Key Lime Pies are awesome; make sure you a swingle (mini pie on a stick that's dipped in chocolate and frozen). Apparently there's a new swingle called the Diablo, which has chili pepper in the chocolate coating - yum!

Save room for something from Baked! They have really creative (but still tasty) cake flavors.

The lobster roll at Fairway is one of the best deals in town, in my opinion. And if its a nice day you can sit out by the water.
Otherwise I'd say The Good Fork, but they are only open for dinner.
I do not recommend Hope and Anchor if you are actually into food. Nothing wrong with the place, it's just eh. Though it would be a fine place for a beer before you trek home.

Oh no, Baked is bad. Not only are their products mediocre and overpriced, but the service is downright rude.

$7.50, with good potato chips and a little slaw.
