Recipes for ham

Does anyone have any great recipes for leftover baked ham? Thanks

Ham and bean soup, ham and scalloped potatoes, quiche!

Why, ham and eggs, of course!:-) Also, it's kind of wintery, but ham in leek & potato soup is absolutely brilliant. If you like pasta salads, you can add chopped ham, it will be lovely. And as Maureen suggested, it will be really nice in a quiche - say, ham & spinach quiche. Now I want one myself:-)

Retro idea: in the fifties there was ham spread, made using a meat grinder, but maybe a food processor (don't own one) could do it.

It was ham, pickle, mayo, maybe some other stuff. To use for sandwiches. There was also, and maybe there still is, a canned version with a red devil on the label. We used to get it once in a while in the school cafeteria.

how can you get any better than good leftover baked ham on potato rolls with lots of fresh butter?!? :o)

(I never get as far as creative leftovers, because we can't get past how good the sandwiches taste!)

That spread is called ham salad and it's a classic. What's in the can is devilled ham, which is a whole different beast. Also a classic, to be sure. And let us not forget ham and beans.

my vote has to be for ham and beans! I always fix a huge ham at Christmas and sucker zip freeze individual portions. I just used my last pkg today in a big pot of beans.

dice it up with mayo and relish for a delicious ham salad.

also really good in a risotto with fresh peas and romano cheese.

omlets are always good.

if its a bone-in ham, minestrone soup is great.

collard greens with ham, the leftover bone and a lotta garlic cloves......

Make a hearty soup for lunch with leftover ham.

Ingredients

3 1/2 C. peeled and diced potatoes
1/3 C. diced celery
1/3 C. finely chopped onion
3/4 C. diced cooked ham
3 1/4 C. water
2 Tbs. chicken bouillon granules
1/2 tsp. salt, or to taste
1 tsp. ground white or black pepper, or to taste
5 Tbs. butter
5 Tbs. all-purpose flour
2 C. milk

Directions

Combine the potatoes, celery, onion, ham and water in a stockpot. Bring to a boil, then cook over medium heat until potatoes are tender, about 10 to 15 minutes. Stir in the chicken bouillon, salt and pepper. In a separate saucepan, melt butter over medium-low heat. Whisk in flour with a fork, and cook, stirring constantly until thick, about 1 minute. Slowly stir in milk as not to allow lumps to form until all of the milk has been added. Continue stirring over medium-low heat until thick, 4 to 5 minutes. Stir the milk mixture into the stockpot, and cook soup until heated through. Serve immediately.

I am preparing ham salad for lunch, sounds yummy! Thanks everyone!

Ham loaf with brown sugar glaze.

Ooh, ooh, ooh, pick me, pick me! I cannot BELIEVE that no one said Split Pea Soup!! Less soaking time than other beans and soooo tasty. And dried peas are like 79 cents at the market...if you have the trinity and the ham, you're all set! MMmmm...and make some cornbread to seal the deal.

My mom used to make this ham pie. It's whatever pizza crust recipe you like, doubled (to have a top and bottom crust--like a stuffed crust pizza). Put the leftover ham, cheddar, mozarella, and any other cheese you like into the crust. After that you can add any veggie you like--mushrooms, onions, artichokes, tomatoes, etc. then bake it as you would a stuffed crust pizza. Not exactly the most low fat food, but think of it as mental health food.
