I convinced hubby it was time for another batch of his homemade bbq sauce. So that is done.

The Boston butt is in the fridge, it'll get a lovely butt-rub tonight or early tomorrow. Bought lump charcoal and wood chips for the smoker.
Pork ribs--they're gonna get the butt-rub and smoker action, too.

Vinegar based slaw from one of the SE posts.
Mom's potato salad
Mess o' greens

Been eyein' the ice cream maker, don't know if I really want to deal with making homemade ice cream, but I'm reeeeaaal tempted.

Mint infused simple syrup is in the fridge ready for juleps and mojitos or lemon-limeades or iced tea.

Steamed littleneck clams, lobster, grilled corn, lots of melted butter, homemade coleslaw and double chocolate cookies.

we're going kinda old school:
burgers, hot dogs, chicken sausages
baked beans
mac&cheese
greek salad
deviled eggs
corn on the cob w/lots of salted butter
fresh strawberry pie
salted oatmeal cookies (post from smitten kitchen about 3 weeks ago-OMFG good)
homemade peanut butter popcorn
lots of cold beer for the grownups & lemonade for the kiddos!

@foodiemama---I would love that oatmeal cookie & pb popcorn recipe
They sound YUMMY!

We are doing ribs, chicken, hot dogs, burgers, potato salad, pasta salad, string bean salad, cole slaw.
I am making a nice sangria with a spanish roja.
For dessert there is key lime pie, brownies, snickerdoodles, choc chip cookies, pizzelles, oatmeal jam squares and pecan sandies.
I got my baking done friday. Right now I am dry rubbing the ribs and making a quiche for after church today.
I have a huge bag of lemons from costco probably going to become a lemonade.

We've got a couple of parties to go to, so we won't be cooking anything but breakfast. We're going with migas w/ chorizo.

We had a BBQ last night.

Salsa
Guacamole
Bruschetta with Tomato and fresh mozzie
Turkey Burgers (home-made)
Dogs (Hebrew National of course!)
Baked Beans (made by BF's BIL)
Grilled Tuna
Grilled Shrimp (huge! like mini lobsters)
Potato Salad with Vinaigrette

For dessert we had Italian Ice from a place called Rita's - outstanding!

As Saturday was a bust with the rain, the grill is going to see most of its work on Sunday and Monday...
First Beer-butt chicken of the summer! Time to try out different beer...no better taste testers than willing and hungry family members!
But, we're doing hot dogs, veggie burgers and turkey burgers on the grill for lunch too!
As for Monday, it might be grilled pizza, I haven't completely decided yet!
I love three day weekends!

Carne asada on the grill, marinated in garlic and fruit juice (lemons, limes, oranges) & onions a little grill seas. Tacos with all the fixings and of course cold beer!

Well, I just made some nice fat burgers with a tomato relish and maple-cayenne roasted bacon. I melted some white cheddar and well....damn. Good stuff.

I picked up some steaks for tomorrow and have sweet potatoes, corn, salad, fruit and a head of broccoli looked particularly lovely. Anyone ever grilled it????

just got back from a barbecue...soo much food! burgers, veggie burgers, grilled vegetables (bell peppers, eggplant and onions), shrimp skewers in a lime and cilantro marinade, tuna steaks with either a tomato/red-onion salsa or a mango/black bean marinade, chips and home-made guacamole, kielbasa, puff pastries stuffed with apples and blueberries, coconut cupcakes, twizzlers...and plenty of beer and wild turkey, of course! and actually, that was a relatively light barbecue come to think of it...but omg i ate a lot of food.

I've sort of been cooking over the weekend.

Friday - Rib eyes, sauteed mushrooms with shallots and garlic, onion rings
Saturday - Cheeseburgers topped with fried eggs, another request for onion rings
Sunday - Chile rellenos casserole, Cheddarwursts with onions
Monday - going out for pizza for lunch, dinner will be Spicy">http://find.myrecipes.com/recipes/recipefinder.dyn?action=displayRecipe&recipe_id=1206203>Spicy Chicken Cakes with Horseradish Aioli from Cookinglight.com (and one of the house favorites around here!) not sure what my sides are going to be yet. Maybe steamed broccoli and brown rice. Maybe roasted asparagus and potatoes.

Mmm. Barbecue in the country last night: chicken and burgers on the grill, little new potatoes with olive oil and chives/mint/tarragon from the garden, big tossed salad, french bread. I brought dessert: World Peace Cookies and strawberry pastry cream tart (http://fingerineverypie.typepad.com/my_weblog/2008/05/sweets-dont-fail-me-now.html)

Today it's urban apartment barbecue: baby back ribs in the slow cooker, mac 'n' cheese, collard/mustard greens with ramps and green garlic, more strawberry tart and cookies, maybe some ice cream...

We celebrated yesterday. What fun! We all met at a beautiful park/lake. WE had:

Island shrimp cocktail
Baby back ribs
Pasta Salad
Crab salad
Tons of fresh veggies and fruit
Cheese, Cheese and more Cheese!
Chips and Dips
and DESSERT was a limoncello cream torte. Ate 2 pieces my own self!

It's been freezing rain here for about 4 days straight (Wyoming is always cold and rainy Memorial Day weekend...grrr...), so the BF and I are stuck inside. For breakfast, I toasted cinnamon raisin bread, then slathered on goat cheese and fig jam and stuck it under the broiler until bubbly and gooey. For lunch, we made a Greek salad and some hummus with pine nuts, and we attacked it all with some warm pita. We're looking forward to summer, so we had to eat something summery in this miserable weather!

Tonight, beef stew. Seriously, it's so cold here.

Smoked bluefish pâté with toasted pumpernickel and cucumber slices
Dill dip with breadsticks, crackers and assorted farmers' market radishes
Olives and home-made pickled carrots

Smoked pulled pork shoulder with Eastern NC vinegar sauce and squishy white buns
Coleslaw
Black bean salad made with Rancho Gordo Midnight
My friend Carey's superior mac 'n' cheese

Dorie Greenspan's Classic Brownies ( my new favorite brownie recipe)
Cannoli from Rispoli's Bakery in New Jersey (brought by a guest)
Fresh cherries
