Japanese Liquor Store in NYC?

Looking for a specific bottle of shochu, called Beni Otome. It is from Fukuoka, made from sesame seeds, and tastes incredible. I had some at a restaurant, they won't tell me where to get it, although they have offered to sell me a bottle directly... Before taking them up on their offer, I wanted to see if I could find it on my own. My only idea is the Japanese mall in Edgewater NJ. Any suggestions are appreciated!!!

The folks at Sakaya might be able to point you in the right direction.

Another thought, have you checked Astor Wines and Spirits? Looks like they have a pretty good selection of shochu.

Thanks Alaina. I'll see if Sakaya can point me in the right direction. Astor doesn't have the one I'm looking for. Otherwise, I'm headed to Jersey.

How about Ambassador Wine & Spirits? http://ambassadorwines.com/page/o4z6/Sake.html
Largest sake selection in Manhattan.

oops, you're looking for shochu. never mind :)

There is a liquor store at 23 and 6 that carries a large large selection of sakes and other asian liquors. If they don't carry it, you can ask if they can order it for you. (I don't remember the name of the place, but its on the north eastern side of the corner on 23rd street. I think it has a green awning.)
