Is there a such thing as too much fried potato?

http://www.kfckorea.co.kr/menu/burger_01.asp?mc=3&ps=6

I went to a KFC here today, because I needed some grilled chicken.
While I was successful in it, I also stumbled across that.

It's a fried chicken patty with a hashbrown on top, all stacked into a sandwich. The meal comes with fries (what no fake mashed potatoes?).

Artery clogging? Yes.
Tastey? I have no idea.
Too much potato for one person? You decide.

For the record, I hate the KFC. Hate it.

but to answer your questions, there is absolutely no such thing as too much fried potato.

Came here to say what unarata said - no such thing.

I dunno...there's a place in St. Louis that's offering fried potato salad....

Southern Cooking: Would you like that deep fried or pan fried?

I can't remember the last time I ate a fried potato - fried foods play havoc on my face.

Is that sandwich offered in the US? I think it's just one way that our relationship with fried food is "romanticized" internationally. The Asian diet was once one of the healthiest but with the discovery of meat-rich and grease-laden Americanized foods, that healthy diet has fallen by the wayside.

Fried potato in a sandwich? What a waste of potato. To me, fried potato is one of those things that you eat once every few months. When I have it, I want it on its own, with plenty of well chosen condiments. I do NOT want it lurking around my sandwich.

Eh...it's up to the eater to decide how much they eat. You don't have to finish your fries just because you get them. I suppose they could do with a side OPTION though.

I made a huge skillet of fried potatoes with bacon and hot peppers last night.

Nope.

Never too much fried potato.

I don't know about fried potatoes...meh. For my money, though, there's no such thing as too much mashed potatoes.

Well, it' sthe UK that came up with the chip butty, which is what we Yanks would call a french fry sandwich. Although I will admit that occasionally a French fry poor boy sandwich (with brown gravy, as I recall) does seem to occur in New Orleans.

I think KFC was copying a huge favorite found in many a Czech home or restaurant. They pound a skinless chicken breast until it is uniformly flattened and then envelop it in grated potatoes, "hashbrown" style. Fry it on both sides until the potatoes are crisp and breast succulent. Hard to beat complete meal with a side salad. Sometimes garlic and/or marjoram are added to the potatoes before frying. Only a Philistine would plop it between two pieces of bread, or worse, a hamburger bun ;~(

Ditto unarata. Oooh, ChelleyD01 -- that is excellent, but I'd use onions instead of hot peppers, I'm a wimp.

IF there is such a thing as too much fried potato, I have not found it yet.

I'm not so much a fan of french fries, but if it's normal fried potato, I believe there is no such thing as too much. Kind of like friends, the more, the merrier.

I do remember seeing a french fry po' boy in New Orleans, and considered ordering one, just to see the look on the faces of my friends when I told them back home.

I told people about them anyway, and for the carb-haters, knowing that a french-fry po' boy EXISTS sent them into diet shock.

Depending on how the potato is fried, there may be no such thing as too much friend potato. Some perfect fries or hash browns? Keep bringing them until the hangover is gone (as a hangover is the only time I eat friend food, really)...

I can barely get my brain around the mere concept of such a thing as too much potato anything, of which fried potatoes are a part. And now I am off to roast new potatoes in duck fat. Yes - get jealous. I don't blame you. :-)

I don't think the KFCs in the US are doing that sandwich yet. How come? It seems like the perfect grease-bomb for the morning after the night before.

@chisai--your potatoes in duck fat just registered. Man, I wish we were neighbors.

Chili cheese fries...with actual cheese, not Cheez Whiz...mmmm.
