I love overdone, nearly charred grilled ___________!

Hot Dogs! I always ask for the most well-done one in the bunch. Skin blistered? Perfect!

Hot dogs here too, but more specifically, those in natural casings, with a good yellow or spicy brown mustard.

Slow-cooked ribs, then BBQ'd on the grill till they're slightly blackened and crispy on the outside. Damn I'm hungry now ... thanks a lot, Perksters! ;-)

Octopus. I generally don't like food that's cooked to death but there is something about Greek style grilled Octo with the olive oil and garlic that makes me eat a whole loaf of bread to accompany.

If no spicy brown mustard, hardly worth bothering with the dog. Yellow mustard? Never! I wouldn't turn down diced raw onions. Relish? Take it or leave it. Chili? Naw. I mean, no thanky.

Those ribs sound mouth watering luscious Cooksters - exactly how I likes 'em.

Oh chiff.......where do you get that? I've never heard of anyone eating that.

Asparagus, Zucchini, Eggplant, Peppers, and Sweet Potatoes!

Oh, and Corn!

And, mushrooms!

And.... oh..... pineapple!

hot dogs for me too!

hot dogs too....but i have some ribs comin off the grill in a little while,,,just like LPC likes 'em !!!...an that octopus sounds great !!!

@McPerk, yellow mustard is a midwestern thang on a hot dog, and decidedly Michiganian. I grew up on the Flint coney with a squiggle of yellow mustard and some chopped onion, straight from the hand of Angelo's aging cook who made it that way. Dem's good eats!

@Perky--the first time I ever had grilled octopus and calamari was at my Italian friend's house. Her family owned a bunch of restaurants, but grilled octopus was never on the menu. Her family thought it was a hoot that I loved the octopus and wasn't freaked out by it...I guess they didn't realize that Korea (home of my heritage) is surrounded by the ocean just like Italy.

As for the charred hot dogs...it's gotta be charred just so, not so much that the charred skin is falling off, but a good amount of uniformly blistered and slightly blackened skin all around, and it's gotta be piping hot off the grill, so when you bite into it, the skin sorta "pops" and it's highly likely the roof of my mouth will be scalded by the juices. Masochist? Perhaps. Worth the pain? Definitely.

ribs. charred ends to make be happy...almost bark like. Yum. Pineapple grilled to the point of caramelization and garlic roasted in the oven until its almost chewy!

Almost any sort of pork sausage. The fat keeps it juicy while the outside chars and gets all smoky.

@O'Lunacy......yellow mustard is THE mustard around here, too. I have to bring my own brown or suffer the consequences. BYOB means Bring Your Own Brown - always appreciate the reminder to add a bottle along with the alcohol of choice.

@chiff & wookie........where do you buy octo? I love calamari so I know I'd love that too. Now I must have it, I must I tell ya, I must!!!! Tears streaming.

So far, I'm wit all a youze guys - keep 'em comin'!

@Perkmoninoff, apparently I also like charred el'cheapo burgers, too. I just had el-double-meat-o-double-cheese pre-smushed patties that I'd grillified too long, and it was danged good!

And yes, there was yellow(bellied) musturd on et ...

@Perky--buy octo from your fishmonger or at a large Asian mart in their seafood section or sometimes in the freezer section.

@Perky - I had it in a local Greek restaurant but any really good fish store should have it.

Hot dogs or sausage for me too. Served with either Coleman's mustard or (all right, don't kill me now) ketchup, and nothing else!

bran muffins. rye toast . onion bagels........ yea it rips the top of my mouth!

Uhhh...howcome nobody has brought up marshmallows? Yeah, sausage patties and dawgs, and of course the classic burnt ends at some 'que joints.

Has the world gone cock-eyed? Mustard on burgers and ketchup on hotdogs? It's just wrong people. Backward, upside down, turned around wrong. Can you hear my hands wringing?

@lemons: YES! YES! YES! Marshmallows! One of my faves! I am glad you said it. Charred on the outside, white, soft, luscious gooey in the middle. YUM.

I'll take the blackest hot dog please..:) I would also like that with cheese, ketchup, mustard, and relish (if sauerkraut is available-that too). Or I'll take chili and cheese.

Oh, and ribs too.

@Butrflygirly.............Ditto on the marshmallows (the only time and only way I'll eat them....maybe a couple smushed on a hershey covered graham? ;). I like them really brown on the outside and melted inside.

Also ditto on the blackest hotdog (ketchup? perish the thought). No one has mentioned cooking the hot dog on a stick over a hot fire or coals. So much fun. I have been known to rescue a few that fell in a got "burned" to perfection.

Oh, and ditto the ribs. Oh, especially the ribs.

Is there anything better, coming off the grill, than ANYTHING TERIYAKI??? Maybe brushed with a mildy minted, clover honey for the last half minute of charring... TERIYUMMI!!! Hows about Chiffanode's Octopus Teriyake style???

I don't like overdone potatoes, but a crispy black skin with a nice, molten center on a potato is perfect.

I also kind of like 'overdone' folded potato chips, crispy fries, and the crispy ends of baked goods like brownies and the crispy 'bubble' part of pizza crusts although I couldn't eat 'a lot' of them...

@Perky: Is it wrong that what I want right now is "burnt" marshmallows? I don't care it's 80 outside...

With a side of ribs?

Ribs for sure! I agree!
Any veg is good really charred (and if there's too much char, it's easy to scrape off!)

Vegetables.

No love for grilled veggies unless they've got those telltale really thick grill lines.

I used to light my marshmallows on fire and then blow them out and eat them. Fantastic. Also hot dogs, and most meat...I like my steaks and hamburgers well well done (I think if the meat and marinade are good enough, there's no need to eat bloody meat). Also brussels sprout...almost anything, really, I like the burned/crispy parts of most food.

I'm not a fan of completely charred, but I had an uncle who ate his toast every morning dry, and as black as his coffee.

Corn. I want that baby to have some kernels that are black.

Also asparagus. And my veggie burgers.

Not quite grilled, but when I roast my brussels sprouts, I want some of them to be black, crinkly and crisp!

Ohhh, charred hot dogs. When I did eat meat, nothing hit the spot like a Rutt's Hut Ripper...or a Cremator for the brave ones!

Bring on the carcinogens!
