Haagen-Dazs or Ben & Jerry's ?

I notice that for Memorial Day These Ice Cream's are on sale (in L.A.) 2 for 6.00. Which one do you like better, and are they worth the price?

Haggen-Daz....and YES!
I am not a big Ben and Jerry's fan at all...but I LOVE HD!
I love those 2 for 6 sales..we get them here too and I sometimes let myself have the yumminess.

Häagen-Dazs - hands down no contest.

HD wins hands down! Years ago when B&J introduced Chunky Monkey, I thought it was better than sex. Then I read the ingredients and the chunks are not real chocolate. Kind of freaked me out and I haven't had it since. I am an HD devotee all the way.

Both - and most definitely.

I think Haagen-Daz Dulce de Leche ice cream is current my crowning favorite, as it goes well with the fresh fruit that's available now. Generally, though, I end up with cookies & cream, mint chocolate chip, or Ben and Jerry's Coffee Coffee Buzz Buzz Buzz (when I can find it). I like Haagen-Daz better for ice cream without additions, Ben & Jerry's for ice cream with additions.

Haagen-Dazs. Mmm. Peach sorbet. Perfect cure for a headache

B&J's Cherry Garcia

Haagen-Daz is more delicious, but Ben and Jerry's has a bigger variety. Ben and Jerry's is for more experimental people.

Blue Bell is the best in the world.

Though, my favorite ice cream is Ben & Jerry's New York Super Fudge Crunch.

Haagen-Daz, no doubt. I've tried to like B&J's, but it never happened. Now, Haagen-Daz, on the other hand, was love at first lick. Dulce de Leche, Baileys, creme brulee, black walnut, pistachio, green tea, white chocolate raspberry truffle, not to mention fleur de sel caramel and pomegranate chip - I honestly don't need more variety than that, and I don't care if this qualifies me as a not-so-experimental person:-).

@myself - all that love, and I go and misspell Haagen-Dazs! Twice, no less:-)

Ben & Jerry's Phish Food is the only ice cream product that I would send my husband out at midnight to go get me more of. Well, before we were living in Germany, that is.

Taste-wise, Ben & Jerrys is dreadful ice cream with a good marketing campaign, regarding its add-ins. For awhile, when it was the only somewhat low-cal ice cream stuff available, I ate the reduced calorie toffee flavored stuff they had for a bit.

But for pure decadence, I liked Haagen Daas vanilla peanut butter swirl.
Frozen salty pb and good sweet vanilla hit the spot.

I've found as I've grown older I don't like ice cream that much--I think I got fro-yo-ed and Tasti-d-lited out in my 20s.

HD wins for superior taste and ingredient quality. Even at age 20, I'm still a sucker for their strawberry ice cream with rainbow sprinkles! A few years ago, I noticed that B&J started adding gum to their ice cream. Now it's practically chewy and not smooth or velvety, as ice cream should be. I do love B&J flavors though (particularly mint chocolate cookie and coffee-heath bar crunch).

I went to the B&J festivals as a kid, so even though both HD and B&J would now have me dashing for a bathroom (yay lactose intolerance!), I bought into the B&J branding very young and will remain forever loyal.

Haagen Daaz because they love the honeybees :)

Plus I find they tend to use actual chocolate instead of that weird "chocolate - flavored" stuff.

Well, I like both, but I do count B&J as two of my favorite men in the world! Especially at certain times of the month.

HD (coffee toffee crunch, can only find it their shops now) Really love their vanilla now. Never wanted vanilla when I was younger, but now I love vanilla ice cream with or without homemade hot fudge sauce.

Had a love affair with Ben&Jerry's for awhile in college (heath bar crunch, routinely eating the entire pint in one sitting. ah college! ah, youthful metablolism!)
Still enjoy the Phish Food and Wavy Gravy.

B&J is just too sweet for me, period. I really love their Chocolate Fudge Brownie (chocoholic, much?), but I can only have a nibble of that at a time or my tongue would shrivel up and fall out of my mouth for having been so assaulted by the sugar.

HD is much better for pure enjoyment.

We live near the great place in Newark DE that has gelato, and I go and pick it up every now and then. Teh we have local dairies that make home style ice cream (no outrageous flavors and made local) But mostly I make our ice cream. It is so easy I do not know why people do not make a batch seperate it into containers and eat it when you care to.
I hardly ever buy ice cream anymore in a supermarket. If we are having cobbler and I do not have time I buy Ben and Jerrys Vanilla.
I weaned Husband off supermarket ice cream about 7 years ago.

HD light ice creams are freaking to do for. How they make vanilla that rich with only 7 grams of fat per serving is beyond me, but power to them.

I'm pretty sure HD Dolce de Leche was sent down by God Himself, because there's no way human hands could craft such a delicacy.

Ben & Jerry's all the way! The Half-Baked is so delicious! It's the Chocolate Fudge Brownie ice cream mixed with their Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough ice cream---swooning now!!
