Father's Day, post matinee after Spamalot (44th street)

I'm taking my dad to see Spamalot--father daughter bonding, we both love Monty Python.

Sorry for a boring question, but where should we go?

Food preferences--I'm a vegetarian/vegan who hates pasta and Italian food, he loves fish and pasta. But it's dad's day so flexiblity is on my shoulders.

I know this a total cop-out answer, but it's my standard answer for whenever anyone asks me where to eat after seeing a show in the city. Walk out of the theater and keep walking until you find a resturant that looks good and fits your price range. There are more great resturants in NYC than the entire state of Kansas (ok, Kansans, not a diss on the state, just using hyperbole for humor), so you're bound to find something quickly. One little thing - mid-town is my least favorite place to eat in Manhattan.

menu pages is a very helpful site for finding eats in manhattan. you can search by neighborhood, cuisine, price.

I'd say Esca for amazing Italian seafood. Your dad will love it. I'm not sure about the vegan menu options there, but I'm sure they'd be more than happy to accommodate your requests.

No offense, but I do know that there are restaurant storefronts in view in Manhattan, and yes, I am familiar with menu pages.

Esca has nothing, nothing for vegetarians and I'm not that nice to eat pasta with butter in a place where it's all about the fish. I've done that enough during my life with father :p

you might have good luck with pigalle on 48th and 8th. huge place, huge menu, food is actually pretty decent and they have lots of salads and soups.

Funny--I was thinking of Pigalle, but then I heard some bad buzz about it--I may give it a try anyway, seems like it has something for everyone, but if anyone has any last minute suggestions I will also take note...
