brocolli with Korean BBQ ribs?

How do you suggest I prepare it? The ribs are being served with rice.....

3 Comments:

Why not serve it Korean style, steamed with Korean red pepper paste (gochu jang), crushed garlic, some sugar, sesame seed oil, chopped scallions, crushed sesame seeds and dash of vinegar?

Maureen,
Are you asking what would be good to serve with the ribs or how to prepare the ribs? Before I grill or bake galbi, I usually marinate the ribs overnight with garlic, scallions, soy sauce, pear juice, some sesame oil.
Galbi tastes great with red leaf lettuce, gochujang (red pepper paste) mixed with miso paste and sliced garlic/spicy peppers on the side. Sometimes if I want additional stuff to accompany the lettuce/galbi/rice, I take scallions and slice them very thinly and mix it with some vinegar, red pepper powder and sesame seeds.
If you want other side dishes to accompany the rice, there's always gimchi!

For the broccoli you could try sauteeing with some garlic in a little veg oil. While you are sauteeing, add a 1/4 cup of water, cover with a lid, let it steam for 3-4 minutes, remove lid, now drizzle about 1 TBSP of sesame oil, salt & pepper, sesame seeds, chopped scallions. Remove from heat. Serve hot or at room temp.

Please tell me you're going to have kimchi with your galbi and rice.
