Yelp.com
Anyone heard of this site? Does anyone use it regularly? I've just discovered it for restaurant reviews and I'm quite keen on it so far and -- as with anything even remotely to do with food -- I'm curious about my fellow SEers opinions on it. :)

I've got elite status on yelp. it's great for what it does - user generated reviews of local businesses. just keep in mind that anybody can write reviews, so they can be biased depending on the reviewer.

I'm Yelp Elite as well--I love Yelp! Totally addicted. I wish there were more KC area users!

I like yelp, but a lot of places haven't been rated yet. We all need to band together and review our favorites (and least-favorites)!

I am on it, but I don't use it as much as I should. it is really, but yeah, more people need to use it and post more information on it. I like that a lot of the places have website links, but more of them need those, too.

i feel like i trust reviews on yelp more than i do from other uber-sites, like citysearch. weird story...a friend of mine was at a yelp event in new york and some girl was there, by herself, and just obliterated beyond belief. my friend ended up taking her home (to the girl's home, not my friend), which meant searching the entire venue for the girl's purse, cabbing from the lower east side to the upper-upper west side (and no the girl didn't have cash), carrying her up her six-floor walk-up and then waiting for her (the stranger girl) to finish puking before she (my friend) could go home.
so: yelp reviews = usually pretty reliable. yelp events = watch out.
ok, so maybe not all that relevant to the post...but still, my friend has to be like a modern-day fairy godmother! and i just couldn't *not* share the story after i saw the topic.

I have used Yelp before. At first it looked awesome but then a lot of the restaurants I was searching for only had one or two reviews at best, so I didn't get much use from it. But it's a great site!
