Where is the best place to get BBQ in Dallas/Forth Worth?
I'm going up to the Forth Worth/Dallas area in May and I would like to get some good BBQ. My idea of good BBQ is Kreuz Market in Lockhart so I'm hoping to find something similar. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks in advance.

What you'll want to do is take I-45 south until you hit Houston, and then you'll drive over to...hee! Sorry, couldn't resist. ;)
For my money, I'd head over to Sonny Bryan's Smokehouse on Inwood, smack in the middle of Dallas. Authentic, full of ambience and history, and with delicious BBQ. Another option: Back Country BBQ on Greenville is good, if a bit full of themselves. The decor is dreadful, but the food makes up for it.

You can't beat Austin or the Hill Country as far as Texas BBQ goes, and if you've been to Kreuz's then you've had the best. But if you really want to try BBQ in Dallas I would go to Peggy Sue's in Snider Plaza. I've lived in Dallas practically my whole life and never thought Sonny Bryan's was all that, but the original Inwood location is something of a historical landmark.

I will be staying in the southwest portion of Fort Worth but I am willing to travel any where in the metroplex area to eat good bbq.

It's not bbq but Fogo De Chao is awesome in Dallas- it's near the Galleria. Oh, and Chamberlain's for seafood!

I'm going to second the nomination for Peggy Sue's in Snider Plaza. Delicious!

Try driving down to Glen Rose - Ranch House Barbeque.

(Although, if you're eating and up for taking food with you, a lot of people like Hammonds, which is down the street. http://hammondsbbq.com/history.htm)
There's a few threads on dallasfood.org related to this.
I like Hutchin's in Mckinney - but I wouldn't drive from south of Fort Worth to get to it. More of a good lunch dive.

Sonny Bryan's on Inwood is very cool, and it's definitely the closest you're going to come to a real BBQ experience (a la Smitty's in Lockhart). It should be your first stop--it's not too far from either airport!

Go to Cousin's on Bryant Irvin in SW Fort Worth - Cityview area. Everything they have is good, but the ribs are great! And the fried okra.

It is worth the drive to Springtown, Texas to Woody Creek BBQ. Absolutely the best chopped beef sandwich I have ever had.
A little closer to the city: Railhead BBQ and Cousins, both in Fort Worth. In Dallas, I have always liked, Sammy's BBQ on Leonard Street (uptown)
Good eating to you!!

I know any food opinions are very subjective and BBQ is even more so then most, but I am amazed no one has mentioned Angelo's on White Settlement Road, near downtown. There is a reason they just celebrated their 50th anniversary. If you want to taste the best Ft. Worth has to offer go there or Railhead. Plus, if you are a beer drinker, you will find none colder.

The best place to eat BBQ in Ft. Worth is Angelo's located on White Settlement.
