What childhood food do you wish they still made?
I stumbled across a lwebsite, today that had a list of foods that companies no longer make. I miss Planter's cheese balls and Keebler Tater skins potato chips! I even remember the jingle! Remember gatorade gum? What childhood food do you wish they still made?

Butoni toaster pizza!

Chicken Sarah Lee (kinda like Chicken a la King).
bessfour at 3:34PM on 04/02/08
@BaHa I'm totally with you on the Butoni Toaster Pizza. I loved those. and:
College inn Chicken Noodle Dinner (it came in a jar, just noodles with pieces of chicken in a little broth. And the chicken wasn't weird, it had no no icky skin or fat attached. It was absolutely delicious.
Gatorade Gum - I don't understand how that went away.
Thomas' Date Nut Bread - with cream cheese. Mmmmmm.

Cheese balls! I loved those as a kid!
Necco wafers (still made, but really hard to find)
Big League Chew (i think that's what they were called) Yum!
Traveller at 4:16PM on 04/02/08
When I was two or so, I had a doll I named Whip 'n Chill after my favorite dessert. I don't remember what it tasted like, but it would be fun to find out if it lived up to the "honor" I bestowed on it.
juliec at 4:16PM on 04/02/08
I meant I don't remember what Whip 'n Chill tasted like, not the doll.
juliec at 4:28PM on 04/02/08
Fizzies!!! Remember those? The little tablets that you dropped in water and it dissolved to make a slightly carbonated drink? The were nothing but cyclamates and artificial color but boy were they good!
RichardCrystal at 4:32PM on 04/02/08
Oh man I loved Keebler Tato Skins and I still remember that song (way to go marketing execs) - "Tato skins from Keebler - baked potato appeal!" Here's the commercial for it.
charm city cupcake at 4:35PM on 04/02/08
Hands down Morton's Honey Roll. I'd come home from school on a cold day, slather some butter on a frozen roll, put it in the oven and watch the roll soften and the butter melt. I'd give anything to have one again!
amosbkln at 4:39PM on 04/02/08
Magic middles. They were cookies that had a gooey chocolate center. I think they were made by Keebler? I'm sure if I tasted them now I'd think they were terrible, but I loved them as a kid.
selizara at 4:42PM on 04/02/08
Thomas' Date Nut Bread - with cream cheese. Mmmmmm...
OMG, I loved that stuff. I'm still searching for a comparable recipe so I can make it myself!
I used to love Rally Candy Bars although I don't eat much candy these days. Also, Charleston Chews...Whatever happened to those?
Remember that frozen french toast you'd pop in the toaster? Can't remember the name but I do remember on the box it said, "twice egg dipped." LOL.
chiff0nade at 4:43PM on 04/02/08
I LOVED Gatorade gum! Big League chew rocked, too, and I think they still make it.
I remember liking some kind of taffy but I can't remember the name. It was in a white wrapper and they were long, thin bars. Maybe 1 1/2 or 2 inches wide. I have no clue what they were called but I'd sure like to have some now!
Those Tato Skins were good. How much real potato do you think they actually contained? We'd probably all shudder at the answer to that question.
chiff0nade- they still make Charleston Chews. I see them frequently. Come to northern Indiana and stock up! I used to freeze them- made 'em even chewier !
AuntJone at 4:56PM on 04/02/08
@Aunt Jone- I think it was called laffy taffy? I used to get that & a graveyard(all the sodas on a fountain combined) after baseball games. Thanks for the blast from the past! Big League Chew gum was awesome- all shredded & in a pouch..kind of like a kiddie chewing tobacco come to think about it..hey wait a minute!??!
bisbee at 5:04PM on 04/02/08
They definitely still make both Necco wafers and Charleston Chews. But the best discontinued foods from my childhood are: 1) Crystal Pepsi, and 2) Buzz Blasts-- a cereal released in honor of Toy Story. It tasted like frosting. I could eat almost an entire box at a time...
HalfMoonCookie at 5:04PM on 04/02/08
There were some really good cookies from Mexico I used to love. They were made by Gamesa and they were round with a whole in the middle and they had a hard frosting that was either yellow or pink. I can no longer find them and a lot of people here where I live remember them and also miss them.
Dave the Barbarian Chef at 5:08PM on 04/02/08
What about Bonkers candy? Do they make that anymore? I loved those!!!

C3PO cereal.

hostess pudding pie!
stickyrice at 5:31PM on 04/02/08
I dont really remember a singular product I miss from my childhood, but I do know I want the cheesy product mascots back rather than the "hip" versions that marketing folks seem to think aren't awkward and disturbing.
Like the Cookie Crisp team of bandit and dog...the bandit no longer exists and the howling dog is now a lanky wolf in a baggy tshirt, low-riding pants and backwards cap. Clearly, Cookie Crisp needed to come across as a more badass cereal.
Well I do miss the Hong Kong egg cake lady in NYC's Chinatown.
I used to get a bag of a dozen of those fluffy, piping hot little cakes in a glassine bag for a dollar. I loved to stand there at her little red shack and watch her pour the batter into the special pan, then dump them, steaming and fragrant out on a dented tray and separate them with her tongs.
They still make egg cakes in Chinatown, but they're no where as good. They all seem to taste of artificial vanilla and citrus (why, just why?) with no discernible egg flavor.
I mourn her loss every time I pass her boarded-up stand.

@RichardCrystal: I remember Fizzies! I shudder to recall that I enjoyed putting the tablets directly on my tongue. Don't know if they're still the same, but you can purchase Fizzies for considerably more than our mommies used to here http://www.nostalgiccandy.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=342

I was a big fan of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle cereal. Basically frosted rice chex with marshmallows. As a half-grown, I miss Just Right.
Also, there were some sandwich cookies that had faces on them. One side chocolate, one side vanilla. Or the creme was swirled. Or both, I forget.
I mourned the loss of Jello pudding pops for the longest time. Then I saw they were making them again, but I never bought any.
Also, McDonald's fried apple pies. Popeye's has fried pies, but they are covered in cinnamon sugar. Although delicious, it makes a terrible mess.
Most of all was a powdered cup of soup mix, cream of chicken noodle. I loved this from before kindergarten. One of my great discoveries in higher education was that this soup could be mimicked in an adult portion by mixing one sachet of cream of chicken with one sachet of chicken noodle, but using 75% total water volume.Maybe this explains my fascination with the cream of chicken stuff. Probably just MSG.
Conversely, I'm shocked that Ecto Cooler stuck around so long as a Hi-C flavor, long past the point where kids knew who Slimer was. I think they finally changed the name.
Favorite item I've never heard of from this list: Ireland's Canned Barbecue.

@halfmooncookie: As soon as I saw this thread, the first thing that popped into my mind was Crystal Pepsi! I'm glad I'm not the only one who remembers it.
pbisNOTmyname at 6:43PM on 04/02/08
OMG I had completely forgotten about Magic Middles. I loved those cookies.
lovetoeat at 7:49PM on 04/02/08
Jello Pudding Pops went away??!?! I don't eat them anymore, though they were awesome, and I find great comfort knowing they're there. And now they're not? That totally sucks.
Another thing I really miss- Regal Crown Sour Cherry candies. They were SO good. Super strong, intensely flavored, they totally pre-Altoided Altoids.
chisai at 8:03PM on 04/02/08
Gator gum- wow... I used to LOVE that stuff. Oh, and Marathon bars. Do they still make Munchos chips? Those were THE thing when I was in middle school. Sort of like a crispier Pringles and sold in a bright orange bag. The perfect way to get your salt fix on... lol
sbelle at 8:22PM on 04/02/08
When I first read the question, I was at a total loss. I guess at my age, I should be grateful I remember anything. So after reading the responses, a number of things came back to me. (What a relief). Thank you all for the trip down memory lane! They still sell Necco Wafers around here, but the Charleston Chews? I haven't seen those in many years! I thought they were the greatest.
crazyspice at 8:34PM on 04/02/08
Did the Ninja Turtles have their own line of food?! I read everyone else's comments before I posted my own. I was going to say those Ninja Turtle chips that tasted like pizza! I remember coming home from school in kindergarden with my friend Arthur. It was rainy and my dad let me invite Arthur over to our house. He and I sat in my living room while it was storming outside and we ate those Ninja Turtle pizza chips and watched a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle movie. It was the best day ever ... if you're five.
PumpkinBear at 8:36PM on 04/02/08
I am SHOCKED that jasonbrink beat me to Space Food Sticks, as I was starting to think I was the only one on the planet who ate (or even heard of) them! Every time I meet someone within a year or two of my age , I ask if they remember Space Food Sticks. As I recall, I didn't like them much them, but I loved the efficiency and futuristic appeal of a whole "nutritious" meal in a single tootsie-roll-like tube. It replaced Carnation Instant Breakfast for a while in my young diet. I also remember drinking Sego, a disgusting "meal replacement" drink in a can that tasted like ground up vitamins and the can itself. But my teenaged sisters had it in the 'fridge and, again, I loved the whole "meal replacement" idea. Maybe my mom wasn't such a great cook.
latteaday at 8:39PM on 04/02/08
A guy came into work the other day declaring that Haribo has stopped making gummi bears. I'd miss those, if that were true.
Can't find anything saying it's true, and he's crazy half the time anyway.
But I'd really miss those, if it were true. But it's not. And he's crazy half the time. The other half of the time, he's eating gummi bears.
I work in a strange place. Creative, but strange.
TikiPundit at 9:43PM on 04/02/08
PumpkinBear: one google search and I found that yes, there was totally a Ninja Turtles food group!
http://www.x-entertainment.com/articles/0946/
You comment also reminded me of those pizza chips that were shaped like pizza slices. Pizzaria or somesuch. Tasted like tomato powder and oregano.
renzata at 9:51PM on 04/02/08
wow, i love this thread! there are so many things i'd totally forgotten about... clove flavored life savers! i can still smell them!
i used to love space food sticks. kind of like tootsie rolls, but glamorous.
i've never been able to bake a banana cake as much as i used to love sara lee. and am i the only person who thinks that pepperidge farm cookies aren't any good anymore since they have lost their transfats?
cybercita at 10:16PM on 04/02/08
I don't know what its called, but i used to get them in my trick-or-treat bag. They were pink, brown and white, it was in a sheet the size and shape of a dry lasagna noodle, and i believe it was Allan's brand. This was in Canada mind you. I would probably be disgusted by them now if I ate one, but does anyone remember what this is called/
ag3208 at 10:35PM on 04/02/08
They still make them somewhere on the planet, but they don't sell them where I live -- cheese waffies. They're waffle-textured cracker-like things filled with a bright orange cheese-like food-like product.
Anybody remember lik-m-aid? It came in a paper straw and it was a sweet-tart powder.
dbcurrie at 11:09PM on 04/02/08
Zots - hard candies with fizzy centers
Sunshine Lemon Coolers
Charms suckers with the mixed flavors - Lemon-Lime....these were the bigger flat suckers
@sbelle - they still make Munchos, same package too!
@ag3208 - I think you are talking about those pink, white and brown coconut candies? They were called Coconut Neopolitan Sundaes here in the Michigan area and I still see them in bulk stores, etc.
radley24 at 11:13PM on 04/02/08
@ renzata--pizza chips! Why don't they make those anymore??
Most of the foods I remember from my childhood are still around: gushers, string thing, shark bites, these cupcakes that were shaped like they had a bite out of them, ice cream pops with gumball eyes, push-up pops, doritos (ate an embarassing amount of these in 8th grade), ecto cooler. I grew up in Philly, so there were always tastycakes. Just thinking about it gives me a sugar headache!
One of my friends always had "cool" lunches: orbitz sodas, oreos with orange centers for Halloween, rye bread dyed neon pink and green for Easter. Yuck!
Vegetarianka at 11:34PM on 04/02/08
Pop Rouge soda! I think it's a Louisiana thing.
GumbeauxGal at 12:21AM on 04/03/08
@ag3208- they have them at "cracker barrel" restaurant here in the southern US.... brown pink and white coconut bars... forgive me, but i think they call them coconut rainbows.
Pavlov at 1:49AM on 04/03/08
@ Renzata- I LOVED THOSE PIZZA CHIPS! I remember my grandpa, who was old and hip and Southern and so unlike my father, being really into chips and dip when we had weekend BBQ's at his house. Keep in mind that "chips and dips" was a bizarre concept to me because growing up my dad did most of the cooking and he only gave us Mexican food. Anyhow, whenever we'd have a BBQ my grandpa would take me grocery shopping with him and he'd let me pick out a bag of chips I wanted everyone to share with "dip" I ALWAYS picked the pizza chips, but never "dipped" them. I still think dipping chips in sour cream is gross.
PumpkinBear at 5:18AM on 04/03/08
oh my, Beemans chewing gum. do u think they still make this????????
jobug_tincher at 8:26AM on 04/03/08
Cho-Chos......chocolate malted milk flavored ice cream on a stick!
Whiz, Bobcat, Zero, and 7-Up candy bars.
Walnettos!
Mary Janes!
1stmakearoux at 9:03AM on 04/03/08
Fruit Float - it was this canned dessert, the consistency of yogurt. You'd mix it with milk and let it set in the fridge for a few hours.
Scooter Pie - marshmallow cakes dipped in chocolate.
Gino's - a former rival of Mickey D's; they eventually got taken over by KFC, but their Gino's Giant was way better than the Big Mac, word.
BITTER at 9:10AM on 04/03/08
@ag3208, yes yes yes. Don't remember what it was called, but it was taffy like, wrapped in a kind of wax paper that would often stick in a groove of the candy. Not coconut flavoured, more like vanilla if I remember correctly. Fresh and bendy was fabulous. Stale? Not so much. I too am in Canada, I'll keep looking...

jcrisco at 10:18AM on 04/03/08
Grape Tang. I've seen several new flavors of Tang recently but where's the grape?
I made Tang shakes when I was a kid: vanilla ice cream, milk and Tang powder. Yum!
I didn't even know that McDonald's stopped carrying fried apple pies.
As far as fast food nostalgia goes, I miss the four varieties of stuffed baked potatoes from Wendy's. My favorite was broccoli and cheese.
MelsDiner at 10:53AM on 04/03/08
dos anyone remember koala yummies!? they were my all time favorite little cookie. they were tiny little chocolate filled cookies shaped like koalas, hence the name...no one i talk with remembers them! that and i loved kids cuisine...they still make it but havent eaten one in about 15 years!
hungrygrl7 at 11:02AM on 04/03/08
DanielJ, you are a man after my own heart. I LOVED Ninja Turtle pies. That was the first thing that popped into my mind.
For all the old-timey-candy lovers, most of those things (necco wafers, mary janes, zero bars, etc) can be found at the Vermont Country Store (there's a website).
Stufsocker at 11:02AM on 04/03/08
Ellio's pizza. Saw it in NY when I was last there but not out here in Colorado. I didn't know planter's stopped making Cheez Balls. Bummer. What about the Potato Stix? I think Big League Chew is making a come back this summer. I've seen it in several places just this past weekend. I hadn't seen a sweettarts lollipop in ages either, which i used to get after little league games but then I saw one in a candy shop on the Pearl Street Mall in Boulder. That place has all the candy I've seen as lost here. Oh yeah, Haribou definitely still makes gummi bears.
sqtip at 11:06AM on 04/03/08
What a cool website! Thanks!
This is going to sound weird but as a kid I ate a lot of Mocha Mix ice cream (non-dairy) because my grandparents kept kosher and would still want to serve us ice cream for dessert despite having a meal with meat. It really was not good....but years and years later I find I'll have a craving for some Mocha Mix (which I believe to be no longer...tear).

@Melsdiner -- we still have the stuffed baked potoatoes at the Wendy's in in Orlando....but what I do miss from Wendy's is the serve yourself salad bar...
Did anyone else ever eat at Rax? It was a rival of Arby's.
jcrisco at 11:43AM on 04/03/08
@jcrisco - Thanks for the heads up about Wendy's baked potatoes. I've been to Wendy's twice in the past five years and the potatoes weren't on the menu but I'll check the locations beyond my neighborhood to see whether they might have them. Maybe they weren't big sellers around here. I also miss their salad bar. Arby's used to have salad bars, too.
MelsDiner at 12:15PM on 04/03/08
I am not sure if anyone else put this link in here, but there is an online place to order hard to find candy.

Check it out! And I think that Charleston Chews might still be available, as well as some cereals!

And I totally forgot about Orbitz soda. I loved that stuff, too.
Traveller at 12:28PM on 04/03/08
I don't know if it's my tastebuds or if they changed the recipes..but I wish they would make Funyuns and Strawberry shortcake ice cream bars the way they used to. Funyuns used to be less salty and those bars used to have more tart ice cream and more crunchies on the outside. I don't know if they're still around..but Homeboy chips were awesome.
FoodieCutie at 12:56PM on 04/03/08
@jscrisco - The Wendy's salad bar was a big stop for us as kids. My parents preferred it as an alternative to McDs.
I just noticed that the new Wendy's near my house has the baked potatoes (cheese and cheese, chili and cheese, broc and cheese) just like old times!
And I've eaten at Rax before, too. When I was a kid, we vacationed in Florida all the time.
Does anyone remember Burger Chef? I LOVED their burgers. It was the first place where I ate a fast food burger. They had kids meals way before McDonald's did!!!
GumbeauxGal at 1:07PM on 04/03/08
Does anyone remember Choco-diles? I think they were the chocolate version of Twinkies....I could be wrong, I was young and I needed the sugar. :)
When I was little the go-to cuisine when I was sick - and I was sick a lot - was cherry Hi-C and Hamburger Helper Rice Oriental. I know it is totally unhealthy, but I still miss it!

For context, I'm Canadian, born in the late 70's.
I miss Cadbury Gold bars. They were about an inch wide and an inch tall and were made of milk chocolate with crispy rice throughout the bar. I used to get them after figure skating practice in the 80's. They were so much better than Nestle Crunch.
We also used to have a powdered drink mix (similar to Kool-aid) called Quench. It came in grape and orange. Oh, that was a treat.
I also miss Pro-Stars cereal. It was basically the same as Alpa-Bits, but it had Wayne Gretzky on the box.
blush at 11:32AM on 04/04/08
They still sell deep fried apple pies at the McDonalds in England.
synaesthesia.dc at 11:42AM on 04/04/08
I loved honey buns!! and grape fruit roll-ups, I think they're only multi-colored now. And mini-chicklets!! That came in the little yellow pockets? Also, you might kill me for saying this, but I was actually a huge fan of Crystal Pepsi.
embolini9 at 12:15PM on 04/04/08
And they totally still have laffy taffy and Double Stuf oreos!! I miss the old flavors of runts, there's this new pineapple one and the red ones actually taste like cherry, not sweet mystery goodness.
embolini9 at 12:17PM on 04/04/08
I remember these S'more snacks that you could pop in the microwave for a minute or two. Poof! Instant S'mores.
I also loved this 3-layer Jello dessert that came in a box. You'd pour it into a parfait glass and wait for it to set. Delicious.
LttlMichey at 1:05PM on 04/04/08
Yes, LittlMichey, I thought of those smores just after my post. We didn't have them, but my cousin did and I thought they were amazing.
And I remember the deep fried pies in England, one of the few advantages they have over us in the realm of fast/cheap food. I don't understand why we got shafted on the pie front. I remember when they changed them, though, and to my childhood brain that was totally hooked on the cherry pie, it was heartbreaking. I can taste it right now.

Jack's Stage Planks -- soft gingerbread cookies in sort of a rectangular (plank?) shape with scalloped edges. They came two to a package -- one with white icing, one with pink icing. They were SOOOO yummy!
GumbeauxGal at 2:11PM on 04/04/08
Ideal bars- I think they were chocolate with peanut butter, I loved pilfering some from my dad's stash in the fridge. Nothing better than illegally gotten candy!

It was a tragedy when our university's on-campus McDonald's shut down (there's one a block from campus)-- it was the only place that still fried their apple pies in San Diego. I also miss MoonPies -- they were so delicious after chilling in the fridge!
@Aunt Jone: Do you mean Big Hunk? It's like Abba Zabba, only without the peanut butter in the middle. They still make it if you're willing to look.
@hungrygrl7: They still make the koala yummies cookies, but you'll only find them in Asian grocery stores. Don't know if that's where they originated or not...
Lorena at 6:15PM on 04/04/08
That layered Jell-O was called Jell-O 1-2-3. I didn't like that much. The Jell-O product that I've missed since I was very small is strawberry pudding. They stopped making it when instant pudding came out. I can still remember it. It had a fluffy texture and set up firmly like a mousse.
Those of you looking for Charleston Chews might try your local Dollar Tree stores. They sell Charleston Chew Bites at the one near me.
Calichef at 11:09PM on 04/04/08
@ hungrygrl7... I had the chocolate koalas (I think they actually translate to Panda maybe?) yesterday. I bought them at World Market when I was in Texas, although I've also bought them here in NYC. And at Wegmans in PA. Hmmm... I really buy whenever I see them. My preferred flavor is watermelon, but I've only been able to get those in London for some reason.

Jello pudding pops. Man, those were great during the summer. My grandmother always kept a box around for me, and some of my favorite childhood memories involve sitting on her porch, eating a pudding pop.
Duncan Hines Boston Cream Pie mix. It was a bundt cake with vanilla pudding in the center and chocolate drizzled on top. My brother and I requested it as our birthday cake for years.

@dbcurrie, you can still buy likmaid. i see it sometimes. now it comes with a piece of candy that you can use to dip into the powder and lick. and there are always pixie stix. i had forgotten all about those cheese waffles, but as soon as i read your post, i could taste that salty fluorescent orange filling.

when mom would pack my lunch she would make this "rootbeer" flavored drink. It came in a kool aide style package. I know if i drank it now, I would probably think it was nasty. But i know i felt so cool taking a coke like drink in my thermos.

Pillsbury Food Sticks...I miss them so much! I also miss danish-go-rounds, the were like pop tarts but shaped like danish and you put them in the toaster.
Also:
Fruit Brute cereal (part of the Booberry/Frankenberry etc. cereals...Fruit Brute was the werewolf.)
Quisp and Quake cereals
Freakies cereal
Jello 1-2-3 the magic one step three layer jello

@hyiirs....I had an obsession with the warm chocolate chip cookies at Rax. We don't have Rally's in Florida (I do remember them in Nashville though). But we do have Checkers, which looks exactly like Rally's and has the same seasoned, super crispy fries! It's still really good...especially after a night drinking!
@carried--- were they anything like the Pillsbury Toaster Strudel they still have around?
Another one I recently noticed is Carefree Gum. The bubblegum and peppermint flavors were my favorite and they don't make any Carefree gum now.....must have been something with the artificial sweetner.

Bonomo's Turkish Taffy

Haribo definitely still makes gummi bears (Haribo macht kinder froh!)
What I miss:
Kool-Aid unsweetened mix in raspberry - I mourned the day they discontinued the flavor - it was the sourest. I have an incredible sour tooth and I would go down to the corner store to buy this stuff and eat it like Fun Dip.
Figurines in vanilla. These were diet food in the form of wafers. My mom would bring them home in an effort to diet 70's style and I would eat them all.
Quench gum - the old really sour kind - not this sweet version they've brought back. Again, I have a real sour tooth.

speaking of gum, has anyone noticed that bubblelicious and wrigley's old favorites like juicy fruit now contain aspartame?!

I'm late to the party, but for those interested, the Vermont Country Store catalog carries a lot of the vintage candy brands and food items - stuff you thought was long gone. Just saw Walnettoes in the last catalog.

Does anyone remember Canada Dry Almond Smash Soda and Wink? Almond Smash is red and I drank it as a treat wheile watching the moon landing. Wink is grapefruit soda.

I remember Wink, and the commercial jingle as well:
Wink
the sassy one
from Canada Dry...

I think Hydrox became obsolete when they stopped making Oreos with lard. It's a shame — they got me through many a Saturday morning snack attack.
Stufsocker at 11:58AM on 04/08/08
Oh yes I miss Planter's cheese balls, Keebler Tater skins and the Pizzarias. I also miss Monterey Jack cheese flavored Doritos. Chicken Little's from KFC were also great.

Remember 1,2,3 Jello? It was 3 layers of different textured jelloy stuff; jello, then fluffy jello, then a whip on the top layer. I loved that goodness. It came in orange, cherry or blueberry flavors, as I recall. You HAD to make it in clear glasses so you could see the fun layers. I begged my mom to buy that so I could "cook" it and enjoy it after the dinner she made.
Ah...Good times.

"THEY" do still make Muncho chips. I love those too. I found them at a local chain grocery and the quick mart in the office building where I work.
You can still get Charelston Chews too. The original big size AND you can find boxes of small, bite-size Chews too. So good. They even make Chocolate Charelston Chews, but I don't care for those as much. No childhood memories with those, I guess. By the way, who is Charelston?

What I miss most:
Saturday morning watching cartoons and heating up a frozen Sarah Lee Rasberry Strudel coffee cake or the cheese danishes.

Aspen Apple Soda and the bacon flavored chips shaped like a piece of bacon? I think it might have been a Frito-lay product. Anyone?

You can go to fizzies.com and order any flavor you like! My favorite is cherry or grape. By the case for $12 or 15 - I can't remember. But what I miss the most are those giant Charms lollipops - I was proposed to with a handful of Charms Cherry because I was always seen with one stuck in my mouth! I was in the Army and they were at the ice cream store on base and one day an officer said I should at least take the sucker out of my mouth with I salute!
2kitties at 2:58PM on 07/18/08
God I loved Fizzies as a kid! Cola and Root Beer Mmmmm. Also a powdered drink mix called 'Funny Face' Goofy Grape and Freckle Face Strawberry was my fav's. I used to and still love Necco wafers (not a candy kids gravitated too). Space Dust / Pop Rocks were good esp. if you chanced the urban myth on a dare and swallowed a whole pack to see if your stomach would explode. LOL! My all time fav though in the toxic waste I ingested as a kid has to be a cereal from the late 60s called 'Kaboom' kind of like Honey Comb's but dyed with fluorescent colors and caked in sugar. When you added milk all the dye leached out into this colorfull swirl. No wonder I was able to walk on the ceiling during the first few hours of class. LOL! Great site btw!

Banquet frozen cream pies. They used to cost about 25 cents and were really good to eat half frozen. Anybody remember those?

MALLOMARS ARE STILL AVAILABLE! Man, it doesn't take much to make me happy.

What about Celeste's Pizza with the big pepperoni's not the little one's. Haha
PFCJEEZY at 4:58PM on 01/23/09
OK, Marathon Bars were the bomb, especially frozen. Does anyone remember a chocolate bar called Chocolite. It was alll chocolate, but had a lot of air bubbles on the inside. How about actual Gatorade Gum? I do remember the bacon chips, they were small bacon shaped crisps. Does anybody remember Doritos Sour Cream and Onion?
bigfred521 at 12:40PM on 03/10/09
I loved lemon coolers too, and also pecan sandies. I also miss rice honeys cereal - they also had a really cool cowboy bee mascot on the package and in the commercials.
MMinNYC at 1:26PM on 03/10/09
I think it was Keebler used to make these fudge sandwich cookies in a box. They were like a coco flavor with a fudge creme center. the were just called fudge sandwich cookies. Haven't been able to find them since the early nineties. The were great. Also miss the cheez balls in a can.
