Vegetably / Fruity / Cakey / Bready?

So I recently made cornbread with broccoli in it, and I'm wondering, should I refrigerate it? As a rule, I won't refrigerate muffins, cakes, breads, etc., but if there's any perishables involved, doesn't it make sense? Can't I leave it out for a LITTLE while before destroying that soft cakiness I love so much? What's the best way to keep cakey/bready things fresh in the fridge? Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

There is a rule of thumb about refrigerating bread but as you point out, when there is other matter in the bread, the rules change.

I worked for a bakery and sometimes we'd make the scone dough, divide in half, spread the bottom half with cream cheese, cover with the top half of the dough, section, then bake off. We fridged those but not regular scones.

If the bread is especially moist and contains veggies, I'd wrap it as tightly as possible and fridge it for a short time - eat it quick!
