Thanks To The Serious Eaters

For several months now, i've been meandering around this site, enjoying the funny conversations everyone has and the camaraderie that seems to be everywhere. This past winter, i went through a really hard break-up, plus some family issues. Serious Eats got me though those long nights when all i wanted to do was cry. So to you, i say thanks, for pulling me though my long winter to the spring. I hope to count myself among you, and to keep talking because you never know who is reading.

Hey listener; I am right there with you with the "meandering" part. I just posted for the first time this past week. I have been through so much myself recently and I think I needed put myself out there and try to connect in an area of interest for me. Welcome! I admit I am not the best welcoming committee, as I pretty much "stink" in the kitchen. BUT, Welcome anyway from me, who you will get great emotional support from, but not so much if you need food expertise.

Hey!

It's Saturday night, (10:00 here), and even those of us being of stable mind and relationship are sitting home posting on internet discussion boards!

Could be worse?

I'll ditto your sentiment listener. Many times, the wonderful people here have turned my tears into laughter and they have no idea the hurdles I'm facing, but they make me feel better. I relate and I welcome you with open arms.

Listener, the people here are the greatest! They dont know it but they're getting me through a major life battle to. Sometimes the only way to avoid crying is to laugh until you do cry, just for a different reason ;) stay strong!

When SE started I going through something. The SE community helped distract me. Thank God for that.

@listener... Glad to be your pie in the face when you really needed it. Online friends have come to my rescue more times than I can count. Grab a cutting board and jump right in.

((Welcome))

Hi Listener! And Welcome!

I am new here also. Well, being a member that is. I have been perusing this site for a while until I figured-why not just sign up. It's a great place. You will definitely learn some things.

Have Fun and Enjoy!

Oh I agree! I have to have my daily fix of SE not only for the giggles but I have actually learned quite a bit!

Smile on :-)

@Listener. I haven't been with SE for very long and I don't post very often, but I too love to read the comments. I will even read about finding food in other states that I have no plans on visiting in the next 10 years. But the comments are very fun and encouraging.

Welcome aboard, sit back, relax and enjoy the ride. :) :) :) :)

Welcome Listener! I've found the boards on SE to be some of the friendliet, welcoming group of people online. What I love about SE is not only the friendships, but also that 'foodies' (I know everyone hates that word! lol) of all types are welcome here....from lovers of Mickey D's to lovers of cavier. So grab a fork & dig in! ;-)

What I like best about SE is that despite what its name implies, the forum is less "serious" than many bother food dedicated sites. Those baords, although often quite intelligent and interesting, encourage dour and staid discussion, and discourage and remove posts that don't fit their complex rules and standards.

At least SeriousEats doesn't object to us having a little fun with our food talk!

Hi listener,

Don't be surprised if you find many friends here. Despite the craziness and complexities of individuals' lives, we all come together at this site for our love of food, the desire to gain knowledge, and a bit of good fun. Foodies we may be, but for the most part are not elitists or judgmental. I, for one, look forward to hearing your comments and suggestions when you're ready to jump in.

So glad you're here!

Hola listener...

I have actually stopped going to some of my other foodie websites because the Moderators were far too annoying. My SE family accepts my sarcasm and incredibly dry humor.

This place is hysterical and will get you through just about anything!

Welcome home!

Hi Listener! Until last week, I never even heard of SE. Now I have jumped in with both feet. I feel more commoraderie with SE folks than some of my
"in-the-flesh" friends. Welcome aboard but beware: I haven't emptied my dishwasher, did a load of laundry or cleaned my house since tuning in!
