Try this one, June is when my localy grown strawberries are ready so I make these 4 at a time and give them to friends it's so easy.
Strawberry Pie
1 unbaked pie shell--9 in.
1 qt. fresh strawberries
1 & 1/2 cups sugar
1 cup flour
1 cup sour cream
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tablespoons sugar- reserve
Preheat oven to 450. Rinse and 1/2 strawberries. Place berries evenly in pastry shell. Mix flour, sugar & salt in in a medium size bowl. Add sour cream and stir well. Pour mixture over berries and spread evenly. Sprinkle reserver sugar on top. Bake 10 minutes, reduce oven to 350 and bake another 30 minutes or until crust is golden brown. Yum!!!

Get thee to Cook's Illustrated's website and make the apple-cranberry pie. (You can use frozen.) It's also in the Nov/Dec issue of the magazine. I also suggest making the crust from scratch. If you were family or I was guaranteed a cut, I'd part with my sister-in-law's sweet potato pie. She's never lost a contest with that one. Lemon meringue is always good, if it doesn't weep. My favorite recipe is from the African-American Heritage Cookbook.
Good luck!
