JEP's taken a break from computer life altogether, and even those of us who were told of the break aren't in contact with her. My understanding from what she wrote to me was that she'll come back to the internet when she feels the time is right.

Hi, LoCo. I was wondering when someone would notice JEP's absence, because we've all felt it here at SE HQ, too.
Before she took her leave of the site in early March, JEP asked me to tell anyone who asked that she was, simply, "on a mission."

I've been wondering and watching for her also - hoping she was on a fabulous vacation.

I'd been wondering what happened to her. I hope whatever mission is keeping her away is a wonderful thing and that when she comes back she has lots of really great stored-up questions for Talk.

Everyone needs a break now and then. In 2005 I took a 5 month sabbatical from the internet and went to farmers markets, canned and made jellies, baked some breads.
It was then I decided that technology was to be mastered and not to have it be my master.
While I took a sabbatical a online friend died in RL. I was not around but got an email. It saddened me.
JEP will not leave us, she loves SE too much. She may just need to have a spring to herself. I often see JEP on other baking blogs and around the blogosphere. There are also new friends for us to find and open our arms to.
When JEP is ready she knows we will be here to greet her. Bagel in one hand, cream cheese in the other.

I'm so glad you asked this! JEP checked in on my blog daily, and I was growing concerned that I hadn't heard from her in some time. I didn't want to be nosy and ask myself I guess.

You read my mind LoCo, I was just pondering her absence yesterday and thought that maybe I just haven't been reading posts too carefully. I hope her hiatus is for a happy reason.

I too noticed JEP's absence, and almost started a thread myself. She is is an integral part of SE and is missed. But we all need time to decompress from life sometimes, and hopefully she will be back better than ever!!!

Yes, I missed JEP immediately - the first day there were no posts from her.
It was the day after someone using my old screen name posted some OT remarks in a thread here, addressed to me.
Then she disappeared, then it was even quieter for a while because Raphael was not posting as much . . . then Perky Mac's posts were not around for a while. Eerily quiet, it was.
Then Poof! There was Raphael back, there was Perky Mac back. Now it is only JEP we search for in the ether-ous internet world.
She had a great way with questions. :)

Hey, JEP, inquiring minds want to know what's up with you! But we'll hold down the fort until you find your way back to SE. We've all been there; a holding pattern is sometimes neccesary while we take care of other business. Friends understand and give you your space...
