Fun, fun food writing!

I love McSweeny's, I really do. It's been a while since I've been there, but I hit them at lunch today and was again just taken aback by just how good their Reviews of New Food section is. If you've never been there, you should give it a shot. It's so much fun. R E V I E W S

I clicked on the above link. I read and read and then I laughed so hard at the 2 posts...one about Amish friendship bread and the other about infant Aliumentum. I mean, laughed so hard that there wasn't sound coming out and the dog was looking at me funny.

I love that last line you wrote, ChelleyD01. :)

Thanks for posting this link, chisai. I meant to thank you yesterday but somehow got drowned in the idea of a bowl of clam chowder.

The response to this topic may not gather all the sound fury and forked tongues that emerge like dandelions on a summer lawn that the mere whisper of "Sandra Lee . . . Saaaaaaannndra Leeeeeeee" does, but then again sometimes I like to think of William Carlos Williams' words

Look at
what passes for the new.
You will not find it there but in
despised poems.
It is difficult
to get the news from poems
yet men die miserably every day
for lack
of what is found there.

That, and the laughter of ChelleyD01 most importantly - say hurray!

Not enough time to read it all, so I'm going to print it and put it in my office next to the sink, and I'll have some short, funny essays to read when I have a couple of minutes. ;-D

Clever and funny in short bursts (now I can throw out the 1980's Reader's Digests) - thanks chisai!

Um, @Perky? If you print it, it's like 400 pages long. Just so you know.

I'm glad I got at least few people to check the New Food Review out. It's actually a fairly minor part of the site (I actually have a review in there, in my given name), and if you tool around in the rest of McSweeney's you'll find all sorts of clever and funny short bursts (tmPerky) of ficton.

Holy Tome, Batman!

Luckily, my printer would have warned me of the total # of pages, unless that size sent it into Never WaddaYaNuts No Way Jose Land. I'll print a few pages at a time, then. Thanks for the warning. My wallet, printer and supply of paper thank you, too.

Seriously, to those who enjoy a good laugh (and who doesn't?) and excellent writing, you've got to check out chisai's link.

My friend told me about this site awhile ago. Tooo funny!

Chew on that
