Free coffee!
Anybody take advantage of the free new brew from Starbucks today and, if so, what did you think of the new Pike's Place roast? One reviewer likened it to the Duncan Donuts house blend. OUCH.

I got my sample today. I liked it. It didn't have that bitter aftertaste that Starbucks coffee has when made in their shop. I use Starbucks ground coffee at home, which is great -- much better than they make in their shops.

I had a grande cup today. It's OK. It's an attempt to reach a wider audience. Sbux doesn't understand it's not the coffee that keeps people away, it's the prices. There were always two brews offered - bold and mild. They have simply chosen to embrace the mild brew and needed to get that word out to the public.

I am officially no longer with the company - so I'm going to look for independent shops to spend my hard earned cash on overpriced joe. And drinking my favorite coffee - Equal Exchange Love Buzz or French Roast as soon as I use up on of the 11 pounds of coffee still in my pantry.

i really like Dunkin Donuts coffee. i brew it at home. it's not fancy gourmet, but it makes a good cup of regular ol' coffee, and sometimes that's exactly what you want.
i did not take advantage of the free starbucks coffee yesterday, but i'm also not a fan of starbucks in general. there was one in the building of my old office, and i spent hundreds of dollars there only to be dissatisfied about 98% of the time.

I was sort of jealous they were only giving away free coffee at certain Starbucks. Not really fair...but I will probably try it someday.

@KarenMC.......I hope it was your idea to leave. Losing a job is the pits. I wonder how many people tip for free coffee? Your timing could be perfect!
