Curry Hill area is hit or miss. Hit: Saravannas and Tiffin Wallah. Miss - everything else....

Depends on if you want North or South.
North: Devi (Manhattan - Flatiron)
South: The canteen at the Hindu Temple in Flushing (Queens), Saravanaas (Manhattan - Curry Hill), Madras Mahal (Manhattan - Curry Hill)

Another vote for Tiffin Wallah. I also like Chennai Garden, Tabla and Tabla's Bread Bar.
