"Healthier" tasty store bought salad dressing
Does anyone have any suggestions? I try to make my own but that sometimes limits my greens intake when I am being lazy.

Why don't you just make a container of your favorite vinaigrette, and a couple of other varieties and keep them on hand in the fridge? Then, when you have a "lazy" day, there is still a delicious and healthy dressing waiting for you! Most last for a week or two.
I can't stand bottled dressings, so that's what I do.

Or if this is for lunch at work, maybe keep a few of your favorite dressing ingredients at work. I like my salad dressings relatively simple, so I could see keeping a bottle of olive oil, a few vinegars, salt & pepper, and maybe some dijon mustard or dried spices at my desk. Just shake and pour!

Fat Free Balsamic Vinaigrette from Trader Joe's if you have one nearby.

Newman's Own makes some pretty decent bottled salad dressings. I usually make my own, but when store-bought is necessary, the NO varieties are the ones I usually consider first.

For side salads and snack salads, I have to say I am fond of the Salad Spritzers from Wishbone. I've heard a lot of people like the balsamic and the red wine varieties, but I am partial to the Italian. They are sweet, though. Still, I absolutely prefer them to just about any other low-fat/fat free bottled dressing. The only varieties that ever seem to be okay are honey mustards and ranch, but ranch only works in less-fat, not fat-free.
I'd like to learn how to make my own spritzers, but I am too lazy to start juicing onions.

Briana's

I'm not a fan of bottled dressings at all and usually make my own. Honestly, it takes no time. Just some acid and oil in a shaker jar w/a little salt. Shake, shake, shake. Done! From there it can be tarted around with. That said:
Newman's Own Sesame Ginger dressing is really good, which compared to most bottled dressings where the best I can come up with is "it doesn't suck." is saying something It's one of their light dressings. It doesn't even taste like light dressing. Honestly, that's the only bottled dressing I would ever use to put on a salad.

Briana's "French" Vinaigrette....not an orangey goo, it's a really zesty vinaigrette...great on sandwiches and veggies too.

Another Newman's fan here, the light balsamic vinaigrette is great. Sun Dried Tomato unfortunately tastes of.... nothing at all.

If you are in Pennsylvania, try Gazebo Room greek dressing, it is absolutely delicious and pretty natural but unfortunately not widely available. Briana's is very good too.
I am definitely a fan of homemade dressing, it's too easy and a lot cheaper than buying bottled. Just invest $5 in an airtight container with a pour feature, make a batch of non-perishable vinaigrette (oil, vinegar, seasoning) and keep it in your cabinet, it will stay good for weeks.
Just don't buy commercial reduced fat dressing, all they do is load it up with sugar and/or HFCS to improve the taste.

Drew's organic has interesting flavors - I like the ginger/sesame/lime

If I'm too lazy to take five minutes (and that's a stretch!) to throw a vinaigrette together, I usually have Garlic Expressions, Trader Joe's Champagne Pear Gorgonzola creamy vinaigrette (or TJ's Goddess-tahini) or Old Cape Cod Toasted Sesame, Soy and Ginger fat free in the fridge.

Pietro sesame dressing. It's from Japan, but it's available at a lot of very large asian grocery stories. I use it also to marinate and fry stuff in.

Newman's parmesan is pretty good - I keep a bottle in the fridge at work. Normally I just drizzle a teaspoon of balsamic vinegar and half a teaspoon of good olive oil over the lettuce and follow it up with a little salt and pepper though. Really fast and easy. (I like vinegar a lot more than oil on my salad...)

Penzey's makes a bunch of salad seasonings ... I toss my wet greens with some green goddess herbs and then dress with a plain vinaigrette. Instant dressing variations with no muss.

i just drizzle some olive oil, lime juice, salt and pepper on a salad for an instant dressing when I am feeling lazy. My best friend's husband loves it and wants me to show him how I do it because apparently when he does it, it just doesn't taste the same... probably it's the love with which I squeeze the lime... he's funny!!
