I found a website with a ton of recipes. I had never heard of it, but it sounds delicious!

Thanks Perky. I guess I should have included a little more info, since most people probably don't know what they are. Hamentashen are 3-cornered cookies traditionally eaten on the Jewish holiday Purim (which I believe begins this Friday). They often have fruit fillings. I have fond memories of them, but am not sure if they actually taste great or I'm just nostalgic!

Get creative with the filling. I've been reading about people using nutella, sweetened mascarpone, or fig jam. Yum!
Here's a link to a recipe (scroll down a bit):

And another: chocolate raspberry hamentashen, that I'm sure you could make un-kosher.
Happy Purim!

There is a recipe in the Dining section of the New York Times today. Check it out.

@Mich - are you sure it's NYT? I didn't find it.

Now I want one.

I got a great recipe out of Faye Levy's "1,000 Jewish Recipes". Everyone went nuts for these at the Purim Carnival last Sunday. i posted the recipe on my blog:

Poppyseed fillings are the best!

Oh, man, I miss my mom's light, yummy hamentashen, doled out in festive gift tins each year to me and my brothers... The holiday begins tonight, thursday March 20th; if you want a sample of the literal "Megillah" with Mordechai, Esther, Ahasuerus, and the evil inspiration for the sweet treat, Haman, as well as the whole megillah of varieties of hamentashen, stop by a local synagogue, temple, or a variety of parties and locations where a lot of people in very silly costumes will be making a lot of noise and celebrating with (baked and other) food and drink. A freiliche (happy) Purim!

thanks everybody!

mmm... hamentaschen. I look forward to eating many over the next two days. The poppyseed and prune ones are my favourite.
Everyone should go to a purim party tonight, even if they're not Jewish. Was it mentioned that it's a holiday on which the consumption of alcohol is encouraged?

My friends and I made SAVORY hamantaschen this year - I know, we're rebels. We took the sugar out of the dough and added dried rosemary, then we stuffed them with a onion, mushroom, and cheese mixture. They were amazing.
Here's the recipe:

This may be a bit late but I made some hamantaschen for purim. Here they are!
