Earth Hour 2008
Restaurants, bars, cafes and hotels all supported Earth Hour and helped make Saturday night so special.
Let's keep the momentum going - the unified support for Earth Hour shown by the hospitality industry indicates what can be achieved from working together - it'll be exciting to see the long term plans businesses make to become more sustainable.
2 million Victorians switched off for Earth Hour and Melbourne achieved a 10.1% drop in energy for the hour. Over 120 restaurants and bars participated and nearly all the major hotels.
Have a look at this link to see what happened in Melbourne and
around the world...

We did it at home here in the NYC area but I don't anyone else who did. It was actually nice little challenge and I wish others would get involved.

I think that if more went into advertising this event beforehand, it wouldn't have been such a non-event when it happened. I would have gladly sat in the dark and had conversation with those around me - had I remembered that this danged thing was happening! I saw one blurb on the news that morning and completely forgot until the night news reminded me - way after the fact.

I didn't hear about it until I turned my computer on Saturday morning. My home page is set to Google, and I saw the black screen.
I played games for the majority of the day and then completely forgot about it until I read this post. :(
