Basic bread improvements?
I'm about to start my basic white bread recipe in my bread machine but want to add something (besides garlic or cheddar) to change up the flavor. Any suggestions?

My husband makes a blue cheese-walnut bread. Everyone loves it (but me ... I don't eat mold!)

Funny kjgibson! I love mold and fungus and could eat them every day of the week, in particular manifestations of course.......LOL.

Cinnamon, sugar and raisins.
Chunks of prosciutto, provolone and diced bacon. I know you included cheese in the "don'ts" but it goes really well with this mixture.

Ground walnuts. I think walnuts go excellent with both sweet and savory things. Whether you were just going to spread jam on your bread or create delicious sandwiches, walnuts are a good way to go.

fresh chives, rosemary, whatever you have on hand is usually a great way to start, dont spend any xtra money, just check out your pantry and throw in a little of what you like, but for the first time just start with a little. my fav add in was chives and gryuyer cheese.
