Would you rather give up pizza or peanut butter?
If you had to make the choice, which way would you go...never again eating pizza or living without peanut butter? I would do without pizza. I figure the peanut butter is always convenient & less expensive:)

I could give up peanut butter....I don't think I could live without a weekly pizza fix! lol
mepolo at 8:17AM on 02/05/08
it's a toss up for me .. I'm not crazy for either.
NanaJoie at 9:07AM on 02/05/08
I'd sacrifice peanut butter any day vs. giving up pizza. I can make many different meals out of pizza by changing the "works" or the crust. Peanut butter is peanut butter is peanut butter and then for a change of pace, it's peanut butter.
chiff0nade at 9:12AM on 02/05/08
I'd 86 the PB.
Kerosena at 9:13AM on 02/05/08
Are you kidding? I'd miss it on apples, and Reeses, but bye bye PB!
Cary at 9:30AM on 02/05/08
I don't eat PB. When my kids were little, I was buying a 5 lb bucket of the stuff every other week. That's 10 lbs of PB per month. Now, the smell of it makes me gag!
Library Lady at 9:32AM on 02/05/08
Do you stay up late every night thinking of questions to use as torture devices?? :)
I'd say peanut butter because I don't order peanut butter sandwiches in restaurants. It would be truly difficult to visit one of my favorite places- CHICAGO- and not be able to eat pizza.
AuntJone at 9:32AM on 02/05/08
I hope this is a choice I would never have to make.
savecara at 9:33AM on 02/05/08
What about cashew or almond butter? I like those better than p.b.!
HeartofGlass at 9:55AM on 02/05/08
This is easy for me. I don't even really eat peanut butter at all as it is. So long peanut butter, hello pizza.
feep at 9:56AM on 02/05/08
Terrible question! Hee hee hee.
I think it would be the PB since I probably eat it once or twice a year, as opposed to pizza, which I have about once a month (and actually crave).
hereandthe at 10:33AM on 02/05/08
Peanut butter! I have a sensitivity to wheat and have searched high and low for a good slice of pizza that wouldn't destroy my stomach. Wouldn't have done the same for peanut butter.
allakarasik at 10:35AM on 02/05/08
Goodbye Pizza. Must have peanut butter.
Elizabelle at 11:03AM on 02/05/08
Peanut butter is out. I can't live without a good slice (that's what growing up in NY will do to you!).
charm city cupcake at 11:08AM on 02/05/08
easiest. question. ever.
i love peanut butter but a world without pizza isn't one i want to live in.
sloppy at 11:13AM on 02/05/08
If I still lived in NJ, I could never give up pizza. Where I live in PA, can't get a decent slice, so I never get it anymore. Boy, do I miss good pizza....sigh.
So, although I don't eat it often, I'd keep the peanut butter to spread on my granny smith's and fuji's.
Oh, and I keep peanut butter crackers for emergency hunger attacks.
PerkyMac at 11:21AM on 02/05/08
I don't eat PB at all. I used to adore it, but haven't been able to eat it ever since I started having trouble with it during my last pregnancy more than a decade ago.
Pizza is a once-in-a-while thing for me. If I could never have it again, I wouldn't miss it much. But, when I do eat it, I just love me a really good slice of super thin, crisp-crust plain cheese (with awesome sauce) or margherita.
So, definitely PB would go.
LoCo at 11:30AM on 02/05/08
I'd give up pizza. But I hope I never have to really make this choice.
Dughis at 11:32AM on 02/05/08
Either one! I guess I don't eat PB really, so that's easy. Pizza - I like, but I could definitely give it up too!
alyssazor at 11:45AM on 02/05/08
A no-brainer in this house. Adios, peanut butter.
hatlady at 11:46AM on 02/05/08
I have to have my PB! I crave a piece of homemade wheat bread with crunchy PB and a tiny bit of honey almost nightly lately. It's even knocked my one true love, cereal and soy milk, out of the game for a while now. Pizza I don't crave. I will eat a piece of it when the kids beg, etc., but I cannot remember the last time I specifically sought out a pie. I also am in near constant possession of those PB cracker snacks. They have just enough carbs when my sugar drops off too quickly.
coffeefrappe at 12:11PM on 02/05/08
No contest, I could and will live my life without peanut butter. Timely question since I just found out that my son most likely has the dreaded peanut allergy.
izzy's mama at 12:18PM on 02/05/08
Ciao, pizza. I cannot go with out my four or five weekly fixes of the brown stuff.
Dee at 12:48PM on 02/05/08
I would give up pizza. I love pb on toast or pbj sandwiches, pb cookies, apples, celery, crackers, it makes good sauces, and if you are creative a tortilla with pb and j with fresh fruit is like a pizza or would I have to give that up too? :) :(
mommyme at 1:20PM on 02/05/08
That's an easy one for me since I don't really fancy peanut butter:-). Frankly, I could give up both, but even though I could live without pizza, I do enjoy a slice from time to time, so if I'm allowed to keep it, I'll do that:-).
brooke29 at 1:37PM on 02/05/08
My husband is a pizza-holic, so I'd have to kick out PB. Of course, I'd kick out PB anyway because I don't eat it much (though I recently mixed it with melted choc. chips to make a yummy dessert sauce for ice cream. Heavenly!). Plus, pizza comes in so many varieties. Oh boy, I'm going to want pizza now...
misseditor at 2:46PM on 02/05/08
Funny--when I lived in Italy as an 8 year-old, I would have done/given up *anything* for PB. It's true, I didn't live int he Italian pizza belt, but some version of it was availabe (and pretty good). I'd give up p-butter in an instant if I could get the pizza I had in Naples and Capri, though...
Lilla at 3:16PM on 02/05/08
I would gladly give up peanut butter! I like it from time to time but definitely don't enjoy it as much as pizza! I hate to admit it but whoever came up with the idea to combine bread, tomato sauce and cheese is a genius!

I'm still keepin' my peanut butter....just think of all creative near pizza Italian-type recipes/dishes you could make with similar ingredients!! Yes, I'm looking for ways to get around my own question--ha!
JEP at 4:21PM on 02/05/08
Only have pizza 6 times a year and wouldn't trade that for Jif or Skippy
bessfour at 4:25PM on 02/05/08
By the way, I know someone who died eating peanut butter: Sondra Roberts, the handbag designer. She choked on it, poor thing.
bessfour at 4:26PM on 02/05/08
i've given up peanut butter and never miss it, but i eat a slice at least once a week. {and anyway i would cheat and use sunflower seed butter instead!}
cybercita at 7:34PM on 02/05/08
I'd give up peanut butter for sure!! I love the stuff (on apples, bananas, sandwiches, pretzels, etc), but it definitely can't compete with a great pizza margherita!
ChristineB at 7:41PM on 02/05/08
I don't eat either very often, but I find myself craving PB more often than pizza. Though pizza is way more versatile and, often, healthy.
JEP, you're a fiend!
Christina at 9:56PM on 02/05/08
no contest. good-bye peanut butter.
beth1 at 11:08PM on 02/05/08
Oh JEP - why do you torture us??? OK, if I have to give up one, it would be PB (I can still have almond butter or Nutella -- bwa ha ha ha ha ha!).
I'm with sloppy -- I don't want to live in a world without pizza.
CookiePie at 11:50PM on 02/05/08
Peanut butter--hands down
