What if you were suddenly allergic to all green colored foods?

Okay, this is never gonna happen but....if you had an allergic reaction to all green-colored foods, which one would you miss eating the most? Since I eat alot of vegetables, this would be a toughie for me...but the one I'd miss most is lettuce, specifically Bibb lettuce. If it was a "No Green-Colored Food Zone", which food would you miss tasting?

I'd miss spinach most.

in the spring i'd miss fresh garden peas the most! but in the winter i'd really feel the loss of spinach and kale.

Well, that's a tough one! I think I would miss fresh green beans the most.

I love them all, but I'd miss crispy crunchy lettuces the most - in salads and on sandwiches. sniff...sniff.....sniff

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

I love peas, green peppers, baby spinach...especially couldn't live without the peas though

I think I'd die of anaphylactic shock, cause I'm NOT giving up kale, asparagus, or brussels sprouts.

The first thing that came to mind was 'new peas'. Then a flood of things came to mind: virtually any baby green, green plums, limes, green figs, honeydew melon, mint-flavoured ice-lollies, and... I'd never be able to try [green] absinthe, about which I am very curious.

Peas.

Basil. Asparagus. Spinach. Wah.

That would lead to a miserable life. The first two things that come to mind are Spinach and Basil then lime, green peppers, granny smith apples , peas, green beans, cilantro, mint, asparagus and brussel sprouts ... I could probably go on for hours .... Horror I tell ya ...terrible horrible nightmare!

I would miss lot's of things but I have to say first and formost would be Ceasar Salad. Second place would have to be sauteed spinach with garlic and oil on hot pork sandwiches.

Until this question, I didn't realize how many of my favorite foods are green! It would have to be asparagus, spinach and avacados. Thank goodness it isn't true.

I definitely would NOT miss green bell peppers. They are just awful.

I would miss jalapenos and chili peppers though. Bad.

By reading comments, I'm seem to love the same foods...oh, I'd also miss broccoli & kiwi & key lime pie & pistachio ice cream & cabbage & granny smith apples & green grapes...

Uhh...do you think we could maybe just dye some of our favorites?

lo82070 brought up a good point---if you were allergic to a green food, which would you be glad you never had to eat again?

Despite my doctor's instructions to refrain from eating red meat and white rice due to a medical condition, I eat them daily. I have diarrhea for an entire day if I drink a Frappuccino (mmm Starbuck's green tea), but still indulge weekly.

If I were to adhere... *cough* I'd truly miss asparagus, spinach, and Thai basil. I guess there's always white asparagus though.

I certainly would not miss cilantro, parsley, bitter melon, and green onions. :P

Oh, I second the green onions! No peas, please.

Ah! I'd miss green onions very badly! This family goes to the store for scallions like others might run for bread or milk (and usually come back with several shopping bags besides).

I'd miss edamame beans, chilis, pea shoots, sugar snap peas, broccoli, pistachios, basil, most leafy herbs, green beans, limes...um, green tea? Does that count?

But I wouldn't miss zucchini too badly...

Well, I'd probably wither away. Does any else feel this way? I honestly think that I have this sixth sense that KNOWS if I haven't eaten my greens.

I would...DIE. Seriously. I love broccoli. I love spinach. I love pesto. I love every green vegetable. This is such an unfair question!

i'd miss broccoli the most!

I don't think I can pick just one. Living without herbs, especially cilantro or basil (mostly in pesto), would probably do me in.

OMG i forgot Basil and brussell sprouts and asparagus and................... NO dont take away my green stuff!!!!! Now i'm going to have nightmares! thankx ya'll (wink)

speaking of green things, i discovered a new way to eat kale and chard: wash and dry very well, then spread the whole leaves on a very lightly greased baking sheet and bake at 350 for about 15 minutes, or until they are crisp. they're just like potato chips! i don't even salt them.

i'd definitely miss romaine lettuce the most. i could eat salad every day and never get tired of it.

I forgot avocados. Weep.

Mint, grapes, herbs, spinach, broccoli, zucchini, cabbage, green apples, limes...Cry!

It would be a tossup between spinach and broccoli rabe. I don't realize how much of that stuff I eat until I have it coming out of my ears.

To a lesser degree - herbs. Although they are another item you don't realize you'd miss until you'd reach out for them and have them be gone.

I simply can't fathom not being able to eat all of my favorite green foods. My body would start protesting from day one.

But I don't think I'd miss spinach (especially steamed) that much, or hot peppers.

I could give up cilantro, but not a solitary other thing!

Brussel Sprouts

This is hard! I like green vegetables!

In specific order, I'd miss broccoli, asparagus, spinach and salad lettuce the most!

Chew on That

Peas and collard greens.

I'll equally miss fresh herbs, avocado, spinach, asparagus, rocket, watercress, kale, mustard greens, green peppers, bok choy, brussel sprouts, pistachio ice cream and green tea (AND green tea ice cream). I won't miss mint jelly, lettuce or green beans one bit though!

Avocados, avocados and avocados. Hands down. No question. This is something that is DEFINITELY on my top-five-all-time-favorite-foods list or the infamous one-thing-on-a-desert-island list.

Or, rather, I should say they WOULD be on those lists if I had the discipline and capacity to actually contemplate and commit to creating such a list. (The prospect is quite terrifying.)
;-P

Green peppers hot or mild....... brussel sprouts .......peas....... green tea since brooke mentioned green tea ice cream that as well !!! grapes...
