PrintQuick! Affordable (AND tasty) New York midtown dinner ideas?
I know midtown NY isn't always the greatest or most affordable neighborhood to eat in - I'm more of a downtown gal myself. But I have a friend who's staying at the Hilton at 53rd and 6th and I need a restaurant suggestion for tonight. She only has about 2.5 hours available so going farther downtown isn't going to cut it. Something casual, inexpensive to mid-range ($40-50/pp), where having some wine won't totally break the bank. Thanks for your suggestions in advance!

Take a look at this link. It will bring you to a restaurant review site the likes of which I have never seen. You put in the location where you're trying to aim (in your case 53rd and 6th) by clicking the "section" where it lands on the interactive map. You will get a list of restaurants you can order in a few ways. You can order them by price, which is what I did. The reviews are probably helpful but must be taken with a grain of salt (as should every user-contributed website). If you click the link above, it should take you to a restaurant suggestion that looks like it might work for your friend. The reviews aren't half bad either - with the only negative one resulting from a delivery order.

How about Japanese? Box Snack Riki and Tsukushi are both affordable and tasty, and relatively nearby.
