If you were dinner for today and tomorrow, what would you be?
I need inspired for dinner today and tomorrow before I walk mindlessly through the grocery store, spending money on needless items.

I've just prepared a large pot of Cream of Brocolli Soup that should last a couple of days. Not much shopping either; just a large head of brocolli, the rest of the ingredients were out of the pantry. Hearty bread and a salad and the meal is complete...

Maybe I would be shrimp tacos with hominy salsa. Or perhaps a big bowl of wild mushroom pasta or risotto.
I could even be lasagna or cold noodle salad or curry stir fry...

a big pot of veggie soup with the bones from a small ribroast thrown in to apease SO who thinks meat is necessary with every meal. (he can gnaw the bones)

For dinner tonight, I would be a whole wheat wrap containing some cooked eggplant and fresh mozzarella. And maybe some sort of tomato product.
It's harder to imagine what I'd be tomorrow night. Maybe I'd be some homemade fried rice. Yup, all of the ingredients are definitely in my kitchen right now, so that's what I'd be.

If I'm a bacon wrapped goose breast tonight, tomorrow I could be foie gras!
PerkyMac at 12:13PM on 02/21/08
I could be a nice bowl of shrimp & scallop risotto!
P.S. Perky, that was mean - now I want that bacon wrapped goose breast:-)

Last night I was Amy's organic mac and cheese with broccoli :) Tonight I'm thinking I'll be reheated sweet potato-escarole gratin with scrambled eggs.

This evening we will be chorizo and potatoe tacos and a fresh salad with a homemade vinaigrette.

I did oven baked pork chops with garlic mashed on Friday.
Roast/veggies on Saturday
PF Changs on Sunday
Roasted Corn and Tomato Bisque/Grilled cheese Monday
Lasagna/salad Tuesday
last night was grilled chicken salads from a local bar
I am leaning towards maybe spicy chicken soft tacos with black beans, rice with lime and cilantro tonight. (Comments?)
Maybe the cavatappi/white bean/sun dried tomato pasta from amateurgourmet.com and a caesar tomorrow. (Comments?)
Sigh. I hate uninspiration.

Last night I had stuffed cabbage from the freezer, alone, hubby worked late. I made a batch this past weekend and the recipe is enough to feed a family of 6 or 8, there are only two of us, so I froze the rest.
Tonight, I think we will have a couple of steaks and some grilled vegs. My husband's dream grill finally went on sale (in Febraury!) so we have grilled 3 out of 5 nights since buying it. Yes, it is cold in Indiana. Hubby will not be deterred.
Tomorrow we will grill or smoke a whole chicken--I'll probably marinate with some o/o, balsamic, herbs, garlic, and a little honey. More grilled veggies.
It is supposed to snow all weekend--I need to get a photo of him, his grill, and the snow, so you will all know how much he has missed grilling. (Oh, we gave away our old grill when we moved in September)

If I were dinner today and tomorrow I would try my best to be myself. Although I am somewhat too old to be roasted whole, a part of me might be braised with veggies to good effect. Depending on which part of me you chose, you would surely have enough left over for the next day. I would also probably be a quite flavorful soup, again if some care were shown in the choice of cut to put in the pot. I would not recommend making steaks of me (much too tough) but a bit of tender loin might be found on my bones and with care that could be stretched for two days. Sweetbreads, perhaps? Messy, and not well thought of these days, but always a hit!

@fewteeth........well-done indeed (yes, pun intended). LOL!!!!

Depends on who's coming to dinner. While most people find me palatable, if not delectable, there are also many who say they can't stomach me.

i would be roasted brussels sprouts and cauliflower, a steamed artichoke, and some chicken soup that i made a huge batch of a couple of months ago and froze into individual portions. {can you tell i'm trying to lose some weight?}

It's freezing in the Windy City! I'd be comfort food: lasagna today and grown-up macaroni and cheese with truffle oil tomorrow.

Because I'm up in Canada, I would like to be something warm and hearty. I would like to be penne pasta with spinach, black olives, feta cheese, roasted red peppers and a large seared darne of salmon to top it all of! yummi!
