I could eat my weight in ____

I know it's just an expression & probably highly unlikely that anyone could consume a food or beverage equal to their weight within a reasonably short time. But sometimes we just starting tasting a specific food or drinking our favorite beverage & just can't get enough. Cheese, chocolate, pasta, nuts, burgers or....?

homemade vegetable soup.

french toast. crap, i haven't thought about it in a while. craving...

I could eat my weight in...about three days. All it takes is one snowy, cold long weekend.

Central Market organic vegetable chips--green beans, sweet potato, taro root, and carrot. I swear I'm not getting paid to evangelize these things, but they're so delicious.

The perfect grape/pear/mango, as well.

nuts.
any kind: raw, toasted, candied, peanuts, pecans, pistachios...you name it.

God save me from cocktail parties.
At least they're heart healthy in small quantities, so large quantities must be even better for you, right? right???

Pistachio ice cream with plenty of whole pistachio nuts. Or cherries. Or tangerines (but only a certain kind of tangerines). In no particular order, by the way; it could be either one of them.

Sour green mangoes (with accompanying spicy, garlicky, salty shrimp paste.) I attempted it once after being given a bushel of it, but my stomach protested. Violently.

Less painful to the belly, and certainly less healthy, I could eat my weight in Grandma Utz Handcooked Potato Chips. That's a lot of chips.

Velveeta!

(@90 ingots)

Frozen acai, avocados, and sausage, but not mixed together.

So many things, it's really hard to pick just one.

But I'm going to say avocado. They're a bit of an obsession of mine. I've got about 12 of 'em in a brown bag ripening... from my tree... just a few more days! And there's more where those came from! Yay!

Oh. And cheese.

cherries and tomatoes

Tinola and Nilaga.

Two traditional Filipino soups.

spaghetti topped with garlic infused butter and parmesan. no matter how big a bowl of it i prepare, i always wish i had made more.

tapioca. with cinnamon. i can never get enough.

Cheese, any kind, any way. Goat cheese, cheddar cheese, cream cheese, provolone cheese, parmesan wedges- whatever.

candy corn and tomatoes (but not together!)

I'm with cybercita! Pasta especially homemade with garlic butter and good parm YUMM! hmm think today is a good pasta making day, thanks for the idea sweetie;)

lemon rice soup, mashed potatoes, rice pudding, Haagen-Daz creme brulee ice cream. Not all at the same time!

Buttered noodles
Martin's Kettle Cook'd Potato Chips
Haluskie
Crawfish
Blue crabs

shrimp
bacon cheeseburgers
ribeyes
eggs benedict
rice pudding

steak....big, fat, juicy - rare - steaks!

Grapes. No matter how much you put in front of me, I will finish them. Which is kind of strange in that it's not my favorite food. I like them and all, but there's other things I prefer. But man, once I start on those babies, I just can't stop until they're gone.

Tangerines

My linguini with garlic, olive oil, slivered kalamata olives, crushed red pepper, s&p, chopped parsley and a squeeze of lemon juice at the end. There is no such thing as enough of this particular dish.

Cherries
Macintosh apples (double my weight if you put peanut or almond butter on them)
Bosc pears
Clementines
Asian vegetable dumplings
Popcorn (but not the microwave stuff - stovetop only, preferably made by my husband)

noodles
buttered toast
really crispy french fries

Really crispy grapes (red or green, seedless). I've definitely made myself slightly sick, because I honestly cannot stop once I start on a bag. Not the worst thing to binge on, but then again, it's not the best habit either...

grapes and pasta.

cherries, cheese . . . but not together!

Dammit, JEP, what an evil person you are!

Easy. Pho!

Oh no...my id is screaming:
fresh corn
bread pudding
shoyu ramen with lots of shichimi togarashi (ground chiles) and menma (bamboo shoots) (Tokyo)
steaming bowls of souki soba and a bowl of rice (Okinawa)
bulgogi
unagi
volcano roll (inside out roll with crabstick & avocado topped with broiled scallop, octopus, tobiko, and Japanese mayonnaise...mmm love grilled toppings on my sushi!)
pad thai
red curry with mangos, lots of Thai basil, and lots of jasmine rice
vanilla ice cream
Japanese curry rice - hmm...but heart burn :(

Gah! I really need to stop!

=)

Fun to read all the SE's comments on this thread. To answer my own question...first would be dessert of any kind, honeycrisp apples, Fage yogurt and most mornings I'd like to think I could drink my weight in coffee:)

Was it Ziggy who asked "How can I gain 5# from eating a pound cake?"

Cherries...dark red bing, in the height of summer when the sun has just set and Im driving along with the windows down spitting seeds out the window.

Cheese...thats all I really have to say

Cherry tomatoes...fresh off the vine, a little warm from the sun, dried drops of rain with a side of dirt, in my barefeet with the mud squishing around my toes.

Roasted asparagus with lemon, chili oil and garlic...sweet Christ, is it spring????

Ice Cream
Schezuan Style Green Beans and white rice
Fried WHOLE clams
Crispy English Muffins slathered in butter
Grilled Strip steak

Alaskan king crab legs with melted butter
Baked potatoes with butter and sour cream, lots of s&p
Green chile chicken enchilada casserole served with sour cream, chopped lettuce and tomatoes and sliced black olives
Filet mignon wrapped in bacon, topped with sauteed mushrooms
Avocados sprinkled with salt

Does anyone see a fat theme here?

One thing I think I could definitely eat my weight in is my mother's spaghetti with venison summer sausage, toasted almonds, and broccoli florets. Unfortunately I'll have to eschew this dish next time she serves it since I've gone vegetarian, but it was always delicious: buttery pasta with salty, chewy flakes of sausage, tender broccoli, crunchy toasted almonds. I think if it wasn't so inextricably linked with lots of childhood kitchen dinners, I'd go for something else, but I have fond memories of this dish. :)
