Heart-shaped food?

What's the most disastrous, silly, unique, heart-shaped edible you've made for Valentine's Day? For example, when I was a young cook, I spent a fair amount of time and energy cutting tiny hearts out of cheese to put on top of stuffed baked potatoes that I was preparing for a Valentine's dinner party. They, of course, disintegrated when I baked the potatoes. I was very disappointed.

I made heart shaped pizzas for years on Valentines Day - my ex and his family loved them. My current husband and kids were not so enthused. That's OK - they love calzones and you can make those kinda heart shaped! I too cut cheese into heart shapes - but for a playgroup snack platter. Kids were absolutely delighted.

lol..that story is so funny!..Umm my boyfriend is notoriously late for everything, so one Valentines Day, I began slicing bananas and cutting them into little, lopsided hearts.

I inherited heart shaped cake pans from my mom. They are dented from so many years of use and abuse, but I love 'em and still use them either as intended or as a form or a cut out.

The first time I ever made grilled cheese sandwiches for my mother...I guessed at how to make them. How hard could it be right?

It was a nice color, crispy, and reeeaallly buttery. I used an entire stick of butter on 2 sandwiches. I cut the sandwiches into hearts after I cooked them, then at around 6 a.m. I woke my mother up, who typically went to bed at around 2 a.m., because I didn't want the sandwiches to get cold.

I don't recall getting yelled at, so I think she liked it. She did mention something about not using so much butter the next time.

What a charming story. Except now I'm starving for a crispy grilled cheese with lots of butter.
