Good eats on the Pacific Coast Highway?

I'm going to be in Malibu in a few weeks and I'm going to take the Pacific Coast Highway from LAX. Where are good places to eat along the way?

Stop at Neptune's Nest (it's a little ways past Malibu) for great seafood and beer...enjoy it while sitting outside on the patio and watching the surfers.

Correcting myself: Neptune's Nest is actually *in* Malibu (25653 Pacific Coast Hwy). Malibu is so long (27 miles, I think), so depending on where you're heading in Malibu, Neptune's Nest may be enroute, or far past your destination. Also, this is a destination that attracts a lot of motorcycle riders, particularly on nice weekends. Just an FYI, since a lot of people might jump to conclusions if they drive up and see several dozen bikes parked outside. Here's a link to a lot of reviews:

QScoop... a bit more info would be very helpful. This is a HUGE city, and you're driving through an area that offers, arguably, some of LA's best restaurants. Which makes recommendations a bit of a challenge. (BTW, you do know that driving PCH is going to take you forever and a day, right? Not that this is a bad thing. Just don't want you to be surprised!)

Anyway. Type of food? Price range? Lunch or dinner? Views/location?

Without knowing those things, I can say your very best choices will probably be in or near Santa Monica. But you'll have to venture a ways off PCH to reach some of the best options.

My number one recommendation is always Malibu Seafood. They have amazing fish and chips, as well as market fresh fish. The view is perfect and it has a great hole in the wall feel. It's just past Pepperdine on the PCH.

Other options:

Duke's - food's okay, the bar is better, practically on the water.

Paradise Cove - fairly secluded, good seafood buffet on the weekends.

Traverna Tony's - a little pricey, but some of the best Greek food ever.

For fun, bumming around stuff - Malibu Yogurt, Howdy's Taqueria

For expensive fun - Granita (Wolfgang Puck) and Nobu

A fun place is Reel Inn in Malibu
18661 Pacific Coast Highway
Malibu, CA 90265
Phone: (310) 456-8221

It has great seafood, picnic tables and beer. What else do you need?
