Bizarre Kitchen Product Reviews

Do you read buyer reviews at websites like Amazon.com? I frequently stumble across some of the most bizarre and/or hysterical comments.

This one caught my eye (the italics are mine):

if you like caviar that turns your teeth and tongue dark blue - then this is the product for you!

And this one?

So far this sink mat has done a great job. It's a nice looking mat, doesn't have that cheap plastic look. It's been durable, not wilting under all the dishes I leave in the sink. And the biggest bonus is that it's stopped my cat from peeing in the sink.

WTF? Remind me never to eat over at this person's house...

LoCo, you're hilarious. I've never bothered much with the product reviews before, but now I'll pay closer attention. :)

And...cat urine in the sink? Eeeeeeew. WTF is wrong with people?

If I'm looking to buy something and I can't find one to look at locally, I'll read reviews, and sometime I read the bad ones and thing, "these people are the reason there are warnings not to use your blender in the bathtub."

When I was looking at gas barbecues, one complaint came from a fellow who was having all sorts of problems with some feature, until he realized that he had it assembled backward. His complaint was that it should have been obvious how to put it together without having to read the instructions.

As they say, nothing can be foolproof, because the keep making better fools.

Some of the reviews are quite useful, though.

I am a regular Amazon customer and always read reviews, but none as funny as those you found. They are hilarious - thanks for sharing.

Maybe the guy with dark blue teeth should hook up with the sink mat lady. They could feed his caviar to the cat that pees all over the stacks of dirty dishes in the kitchen sink?

Shudder.

the reviews on amazon can be downright hilarious.

cat pee?!? O_o

Please, I would REALLY love to know what these products are...

As for the blender and the bathroom comment - during Christmas on the Gold Box Forum there was a discussion about a guy (at a Christmas party) who claimed to have gotten the "best gift ever" for his wife. The guy was a husband of the poster's co-worker. Well, it turned into a very long discussion about what the gift could be since the guy had given 3 hints to the OP. So everyone guessed and guessed for days until the OP could get in touch with the co-worker to ask what her DH had given her. Everybody was very anxious to know. Turned out that the "best gift ever" was a smoothie maker for her bathroom! Talk about a huge let-down. You wouldn't believe all the fantastic ideas that were discussed. We were given the 3 clues for our guessing game and so we knew it was a gift to use in the bathroom. One of the funniest threads I've ever come across on a discussion board. And there were so many women who were angry that he gave her an appliance as her "big" Christmas gift. As far as we know the wife was quite happy with it! LOL!
We just hope that she doesn't fall victim to the obvious electrical hazard. OH! Wait! Maybe he's hoping for his own big present considering the electrical issue....hmmm....

BTW - the Gold Box Forum is on Amazon for anyone who didn't know but wondered.

why would you want a smoothie-maker for your....umm... bathroom?
Does anyone else find kitchen appliances in the bathroom a little icky?
