BBQ Season is here! It's really coming soon-to a grill near you.

For those of you in colder climates, as I am, the craving; desire, if you will, for barbeque, is welling up and bubbling to the surface of your consciousness. As much as I adore the hickorysticky slow-smoked ribs and the juicy brined rotisserie chickens, there is one thing and one thing only that will be first on the BBQ menu. A big, fat, juicy medium -rare burger with not many fixings . Granted, that is truly a "grill" order, not actual barbeque, but it has to be the first order of business for the Weber. As the season progresses, gourmet burgers abound. Lamb-Kofte burgers, beef and andouille, salmon-burgers with wasabi aoili - the selection and temptations are endless.

What do you look forward to as your first foray into barbeque season? Do you need "deep bites" from the grill?

There's nothing like a nice fat burger on the grill. Or a steak. Hmmm....and I adore ribs. Sausages. Brats.

Once the weather truly heats up, it gets to a point where it's just too hot to cook indoors, and I cook everything on the grill. Pizza. Bread. Veggies.

And then I get tired of the grill and can't wait to go indoors for soups and stews.

So glad I live where there are seasons!

umm, I'd say it's pretty cold here, too. HOWEVER, my husband's dream grill went on sale (in February?!) and we have been grilling more often than not, even in the snow, well, actually in the garage with the door open. I'm sure our scandalous behaviour has the neighbors worrying about the decline of the neighborhood, but hubby is like a kid at Christmas, he has to try out his new toy. The first thing we grilled was some big fat burgers. Oh no, that's not true, we grilled steaks for dinner on day one, and burgers for lunch on day two. Hubby now has a cold (gee, I wonder why) so the garage door remains closed and the grill is cold. I think we will wait for a warm spell, somewhere in the high 40's before grilling again. :D

I dream of prawn-and-sausage skewers with bell peppers and pineapples. But I would settle for simple grilled chicken kabobs, or just plain grilled sausage! And let's not forget grilled asparagus, mushrooms, onions, peppers...Oooh, I can't wait for that snow to melt!

Not true BBQ, but we do cook out on the grill year-round. Of course, it's easy in SoCalif, but we still do it when it's "cold" (e.g., low 40s) and even when it's raining (our built-in gas grill is at one end of the back porc, just under cover of the roof). When we retire to TN, we'll still grill out during winter, because we're just a bit rebellious that way.

I adore just about anything on the grill. Meat, fish, veggies... whatever. BUT, my all-time favorite is, and always will be, a big, fat, juicy medium or medium-rare burger. But then, good hamburgers are one of my serious obsessions. You might say that hubby and I are burger co-dependents.

Hi. My name is LoCo and I'm a hamburholic. (hi loco)

Later summer here we seriously BBQ, cause that's just what we do, but I'm dragging the grill to the middle of the garage this week myself to work it with the stainless cleaner. If I don't get my big, fat burger freak-on soon, I just may die. I know I said I want it plain-ish, but a little Maytag, some caramelized onions and a schmear of dijon wouldn't hurt anybody, would it? And better sooner, than later. I know, I need to find a support group. Are you guys out there?

@LoCo - Girl, you just "get" it! Ironic that you mention it; my in-laws retired to TN a few years back in the Knoxville area, in the Smokies. It's so beautiful. Land o' lots of mountains and golf courses.
