I ate the Juicy Lucy!
Since seeing this post and hearing about the Juicy Lucy in different local papers / sites I have wanting to get my hands on one. Last week I went to Groveland Tap in St. Paul and placed my order. It was... heaven! The cheese was pure gooey goodness.
How many of you have had the pleasure of experiencing the Juicy Lucy? and what did you think? If you haven't tried it, I urge you to do so!
Happy eating!

My first Juicy Lucy experience was the first time I really knew that commercials worked. There was an ad for the Groveland Tap on some local channel (a REALLY bad ad) with up close and personal video of JLs. Three minutes later I was in my car, twenty minutes later I had my first bite of cheesy goodness. It didn't rock my world, but it did cheese it up a lot.

I thought the Jucy Lucy was invented at Matt's in Minneapolis? Looks like I'm going to have to cross the river one of these days.

Yes, I believe it was born at Matt's - I will have to go there and compare... but Groveland Tap's was pretty darn good!

Ooops, just found it!! What makes this deiiferent from other burgers that are messy and fall apart?

RichardCrystal - the cheese is INSIDE the burger - read the post I linked to in my original post. Plus - the bun / meat ratio is pretty close to perfect.
Try it!
