Grouper, Crab, Tuna that are NOT. Have you been ripped off?

Just read this on Comcast News. Curious what you all think - what would you do if this happened to you?

I'm going to see if I can do a clickable link.
I doubt I could be fooled with fake tuna or crab, but I haven't had grouper that often. Could you be fooled? Could restaurants and seafood markets really be fooled?

This subject is near and dear to me because I live in the Tampa area and grouper is huge here. There are local laws that prohibit restauranteurs from advertising a dish as grouper if it is not. A restauranteur friend of ours generally runs a sandwich called "The Impostor" - covering any firm white fleshed fish - and they fly out the door. As a matter of fact, he said recently that some people prefer the impostor to the real thing!

The way to avoid getting "taken" is to go to reputable places you trust.

Thanks chiffOnade. I wouldn't recognize it by sight, because I'm not that familiar with it. I would recognize tilapia, orange roughy and a few other white fishes. Would the same apply to those who would normally sell it, like grocery stores and restaurants? I would think a fish monger should know it for sure, but I wonder about the others. What do you think? Are they really being fooled, too?
