Cuy
If cuy were more commercially available in the U.S. than it currently is, would you buy and eat it? Would you cook it the traditional Peruvian way or would you experiment with it in other dishes?

I guess first we would have to know that cuy is guinea pig.
I assume that Peruvians and other residents in South America have many ways of preparing it, so I don't know what a traditional preparation would be, but I imagine it's like other small rodents (rabbit? squirrel?)--good roasted, or in a stew perhaps.
Both rabbit and even squirrel are available with a little bit of effort and I rarely acquire or eat those so I doubt I would bother to eat/experiment guinea pig much either.

I'll try anything once... Cuy (guinea pig for those who didn't know) has been likened to rabbit/dark meat chicken. Aside from looking like a rodent when served whole (the traditional way), I wouldn't mind trying it!

I am not jewish, I do not keep kosher, but I agree with a lot of Leviticus and Deuteronomy and I am not eating rats/rodents. (Leviticus 11)
I also do not eat Cornish game hens and small boned fowl. Too much trouble and not enough meat.

If I was in Peru and offered cuy, I might try it to be polite, depending on the circumstances in which it was offered. But I'm not about to start buying guinea pig cutlets in the U.S. anytime soon.

I ate it in peru--traditionally prepared (roasted on a spit), and as part of my fried rice in a Chifa, and it is fine and all, but I don't think I'd be buying it or anything here...

Seriously, I cannot imagine buying them. I hunt for squirrels and rabbits and bet these little buggers would taste similar, so I guess my answer would be that I'd have no problem eating guinea pigs, but I'll save my cash for a nice slab of real pig instead...

Not on a bet. I had one for a pet (which is the same reason I can't eat rabbit.)
